It’s a little hard for me to get into intense Sageuks right away but My Country was gripping from the get go!

Not to start a Great KDrama Debate but is a show set in Goryeo technically a Sageuk?

Isn’t it? Sageuk refers to all historical dramas I thought?

Yes. After the Joseon dynasty, Goryeo is another one that is quite frequently explored by kdramas. Any drama that is based on historical figures, events, or uses a historical backdrop, would be a Sageuk. The word “sageuk” literally translates to “historical drama”. So the time period is irrelevant.

Yeah. I even looked up the hanja in Sageuk just a while back cause I was wondering if I missed out on something. 😅

Yup! I was watching it on the TV and even my father got sucked in and started watching it along with me. šŸ˜€
