Aahh yes Kim Go-eun! Eeek I’ve just realised I had not even mentioned her before *please spare me* It’s my first time watching KGE and kudos to her for not making me scratching my head on Eun-tak’s behaviour and feeling toward Goblin. It’s not easy to nail the role morover alongside Gong Yoo. She’s one great actress!
EVERYTHING about that scene was perfect. Beanies analyzed the hell out of it on the recap. No, KGE is phenomenal. I’ve watched other things she’s been in (movies and dramas) and she is different in every role–highly impressed with her!
I’ve seen some of it. I think you’d like it. It’s based on a manwa of the same title. And the ending was not satisfing for people who knew the original. Btw, the original just got finished and I think you can read it. They’re making a movie now! Also with Park Hae Jin. I’m watching that for sure. I saw her in memories of the sword, coin locker girl and another one I don’t remember the name of.
Goblin ep.11: Eun-tak raised the same concern I’ve been pondering the last 2 episodes. So which is gonna be for them.
1. Eun-tak should die. She’d be reborn and later she’d find Goblin.
2. Goblin should die. Maybe the deity could grant him reincarnation thus he could go looking for Eun-tak.
3. They die together (should be a way).
No.1 sounds distorted cause obviously that sword has to be removed. That remains no.2&3. I’m all for no 2 no doubt yet if they’d go over the top melodramatic I’d say go with no.3 (gosh, am I a masochist?)
Goblin ep.10: Things seemed going hearty this episode for Goblin and Eun-tak. That kiss… smitten. I know it was a one fine day before the storm which I highly anticipated.
Reaper ahjussi though, poor lad heartbroken on the first day of New Year?! Thank God the bromance saved the day. HA! Fried egg couple and grocery errand model walk 😂😂😂
Goblin ep.9: All I’m thinking now is the possible conclusions for the Goblin and his bride with this come up neither can live while the other survives providence. Eun-tak is the girl who lived but our Dokkaebi is not you-know-who the enemy, we want both of them survive (at least for 80 years more) so I hope there’s another twist for this fate.
Reaper was so sweet in this episode, confessed to his homie that he’d be bored if Goblin left. Hahah just say you grew fond of him. And Sunny! OMG that Glory Glory Hallelujah 😂 sounded bizarre just because in my mind she’s singing a song about Kim Young-kwang.
There is a twist of fate—not that anyone escapes fate, this show is all about destiny—but you’ll love it. My husband and I were talking about our favorite Goblin scenes today while driving for half the day. So, so good. Nothing even compares.

When Goblin and Eun Tak are in Canada the second time and he’s reading her poems. She just looks so effervescent and he’s just totally smitten. I’m obscessed with that poem. Episode 4 is a favorite. And episode 7, Gong Yoo is gold watching Train to Busan! I don’t know how any of the extras got through that scene!
That poem is a gem! Yes I’m definitely more than obsessed with it. I’ve been having the reading scene clip on repeat to memorize it.

Goblin ep.8: Aigooo this episode was a lot more gloomy than all the preceding ones thus much appreciated for the public mess aftermath dealing by Reaper and Dok-hwa, also Reaper rehearsing “Orabeoni” in front of the mirror. Hah! That said, I was suspecting as Dok-hwa that Reaper was Shin’s sister reincarnation yet during Goblin was drawing for the lantern it showed Reaper stung in pain when Goblin stroke the 王黎 / Wang Yeo character, so Reaper must be the King and Sunny was the Queen. But why didn’t she feel anything since Goblin also wrote her name 金善 / Kim Seon. I guess the King’s sin was grand therefore only he’s the one in torment.
Now for the dismal truth surrounding Eun-tak, Goblin, and the sword. The goddess granny better not really meant for what she said to Goblin. I’m so moody now thinking of the possible endings😣
Goblin ep.7: Of course I didn’t buy Goblin was going to have the sword pulled out of his chest this quick but the twist was fascinating so was Eun-tak’s panicky rejoinder. And Gong Yoo’s expression NEVER FAILS. Aww was it also the first time for the Goblin?
Reaper, of all character is (un)officially the love advisor to Goblin Eun-tak romance. Ditto on his analyzing it entailed something stronger to withdraw the sword. True Love! What else? Eun-tak is the Goblin’s bride no mistake. I was surprised though it was accomplished within this episode cause I really thought they needed to invest more time for convincing us on the true love bit.
As always am grateful for the laughs. Every one’s I love you-ing Goblin, Train to Busan screaming, and the epic bromance certainly. R : I guess I should be glad you’re back but shouldn’t we have the girl packing? G : 😮😮😮 R : Don’t you want to? Can’t we send her away and be happy like we used to be? G : Whom were you living with?
Ah so it wasn’t true love that enabled Eun-tak to grab the sword? Honestly I wasn’t sure either cause I saw hardly any change from the first attempt. But maybe they’re more sincere this time like they’re hugging and the Goblin was happy? There were def no magical words said there. He was laughing and suddenly strucked with pain.
Goblin ep.6: I guffawed two seconds then I mourned, I laughed again, and then two seconds succumbed again. How come this show managed to play my emotions so well. Digging the deepest feels then suddenly rolling out the prank or playing the cute banters and in seconds dropping tons of emotional chunk. Applause.
Reaper has grown a lot in me and I think he’s my favorite character in the show so far. When he’s working he’s a professional to the end, keeping his cool. He looks frightening to human at first but as it goes he turns out to have so many soft spots. Like how he kept telling Goblin to just deceased since he’s so damn competitive while never really meant that cause he enjoys Goblin companionship. At times he might get irritated to be caught in between Goblin Eun-tak dilemma yet still listened to their rumbles and gave thoughtful advises.
If you reacted that way in episode 6, prepare for episode 13! I couldn’t decide if I was crying because I was sad, or crying because I was laughing so hard, and then crying again because I was sooo depressed. That’s what this show did to me! I called it emotional calisthenics while I was going through it!
That wasn’t the ending right? I’ve been refraining my self for all forms of spoilery even keeping from scrolling to the end of videos thumbnail to see how many episodes there are and just simply click next from the last episode I’ve watched.
I also cried because I was rediculously happy in 13 too. Just trust me when I say that I’m glad I watched it live to process all those emotions in the week betweeen episodes 13 and 14. I needed that break to regroup! It’s the best episode, but one that is hard to watch again for me. Too many feels! I would have liked an extra episode, like 13.5 within 13 to enjoy—you’ll see why.

Goblin ep.3: Awww are they officially missing each other now? Yes they are! That may sound too fast and simple but I feel them, I feel for their yearning. Must admit the camera sweeping and acoustic melo music adding much to the sense but Gong Yoo’s brooding is front and center. The title The Lonely Shining Goblin perfectly suits him.
Favorite scene of this episode have to be the farewell scene by the beach which conveys so many feelings that when the Beautiful song by Crush started playing my heart almost burst and I had to cover my mouth so I wouldn’t cry.
I was surprised how he sneaks up on you in this. It was the very first drama I was introduced to Gong Yoo, amazingly, and initially, I was skeptical about him, knowing absolutely nothing about him. But that first episode, within the first 10 minutes, I was sold on him, hook-line-sinker. And this one, he doesn’t even know what she’s done to him, but his heart aches so and GY makes me believe it’s him! I said once in a thread long ago that he’s so handsome, but unassumingly so. He doesn’t try too hard, he makes his acting look effortless, like his sexiness, it just oozes out of him like sweet syrup. And I’m left licking the plate clean. Yum. 😋
At the time the drama’s airing I was in kdrama hiatus for a long time. I didn’t watch online and didn’t subscribe to TvN that’s available in my place so I knew nothing of it. My only source of kdrama was kbs world. When I first heard of Goblin I was like huh? A drama about that creature in LOTR? Nah!! It’s the least to my attention. Even when the Goblin memes party was a gaga I wasn’t affected in any way. Well I’ll forever regret that I missed the fun. (I’ve just stalked those memes 2 days ago)
The drama only came to my radar when I happened to be in Korean painting exhibition in April and there was a drawing of Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-wook in one frame with the caption “Goblin” (my friend took pictures but she said they’re no longer in her cam and her laptop’s crushed ☹)
Goblin ep.2: The show sure knew how to captivate viewers right from the opening scene. The Quebec’s sightseeing won my heart and I think my reaction was very much like Eun-tak. It’s still very early to tell Goblin Eun-tak romance but they’re heading there. I like that he out of curiosity first came looking for her since it was always Eun-tak who summoned him. How hilarious then to watch Goblin dying to expect her smoke signals and got on Reaper’s nerves for that. Their bickerings were gold and glad there are more to come. My favorite scene was the one in the Christmas decoration shop. Eun-tak’s genuine innocent smile startled Goblin right in there and Gong Yoo’s expression was precious that screenshot didn’t do any justice to it.
I could see why Eun-tak’s clinging to Goblin and proclaimed it out loud she wanted to marry him. Her whole life after mom’s passing was like a hell. An awful aunt with two awful cousins, terrible teacher and friends, and yet annoying ghosts. She had no one to turn to then this charming divine magically appeared, looking nice and able to do things. He maybe looked a bit old for him but that’s the least on her mind as long as he could take her to wonderful places and escape her pity little world that’s fine with her.
I was just in that shop! Magical! And any girl over the age of 15 would swoon for such a divine specimen of a god. Horrible life or not. Hi! @kayedrama, I don’t know how you find all the posts about Goblin and Gong Yoo, but yet, you do! You must be part Goblin.
Goblin ep.1: WHOAH! WHAT IS THIS? A Tim Burton’s movie? Who’s the writer did you say? And who’s the PD? Why’s Gong Yoo an Ahjussi? I refuse to call him that. Where were all those alluring sceneries shot? My gadd Nam Da-reum! Pardon my flabbergast.
I was so taken aback since the very beginning at the opening clip. The stunning visual paired with Round and Round playing in background. I was swept into the fantasy but then suddenly twitched to the epic saeguk timeline which gave me strong Gladiator vibes, and transported to the dreamy present days with gloriously dashing Gong Yoo. Watching this is like stepping into the wonders of Narnia just keeps me in awe. I really couldn’t see any flaws in this pilot episode. Okay present days timeline was a little confusing at first but caught with it. And maybe a bit off with the bride being a high school girl but our Tokkaebi / Goblin doesn’t age while she does so still makes sense. Other than that it’s a perfect riveting start.
See???? It’s amazing! I just watched episode 8 again (well, half of it) with my kimchi group yesterday and as many dramas as I have seen since this one, nothing can compare to it. I think an actor is amazing, and then I watch Gong Yoo for 5 minutes, and I’m like—what was I thinking? I can’t wait to see your fan wall littered with appreciation for this absolutely enthralling drama!
Indeed I had never seen one like this. I feel like watching this first episode solely over and over again until every single images affixed in my head. Gong Yoo is forever dazzling period.

FOREVER DAZZLING! Perfect description of Gong Yoo. He’s different in every role, but he seems so genuine every time. I love him the best in this—then I saw the BTS specials and I loved him even more! Don’t deprive yourself of those when you’re done.
Since I’m a Goblin’s underpants now, not sure if it’s a good thing or not, think it’s time to finally dig it. And wow only on the opening clip and it caught me, the cinematography and ost ❤

I also cried because I was rediculously happy in 13 too. Just trust me when I say that I’m glad I watched it live to process all those emotions in the week betweeen episodes 13 and 14. I needed that break to regroup! It’s the best episode, but one that is hard to watch again for me. Too many feels! I would have liked an extra episode, like 13.5 within 13 to enjoy—you’ll see why.

Goblin ep.5: Pttttff so many LOL moments this episode and I can’t decide which trios antics I love the most.

Goblin ep.4: It was raining, was always raining. And now it’s flowers blooming🌸🌸. Something good did happen. See the girl’s smile? Oh she’s almost always bright. Then see that shining happy Goblin? Yep that’s ❤
Favorite scene? Goblin reciting the poem in his thought while Eun-tak running toward him.

Goblin ep.3: Awww are they officially missing each other now? Yes they are! That may sound too fast and simple but I feel them, I feel for their yearning. Must admit the camera sweeping and acoustic melo music adding much to the sense but Gong Yoo’s brooding is front and center. The title The Lonely Shining Goblin perfectly suits him.
Favorite scene of this episode have to be the farewell scene by the beach which conveys so many feelings that when the Beautiful song by Crush started playing my heart almost burst and I had to cover my mouth so I wouldn’t cry.

I was surprised how he sneaks up on you in this. It was the very first drama I was introduced to Gong Yoo, amazingly, and initially, I was skeptical about him, knowing absolutely nothing about him. But that first episode, within the first 10 minutes, I was sold on him, hook-line-sinker. And this one, he doesn’t even know what she’s done to him, but his heart aches so and GY makes me believe it’s him! I said once in a thread long ago that he’s so handsome, but unassumingly so. He doesn’t try too hard, he makes his acting look effortless, like his sexiness, it just oozes out of him like sweet syrup. And I’m left licking the plate clean. Yum. 😋

At the time the drama’s airing I was in kdrama hiatus for a long time. I didn’t watch online and didn’t subscribe to TvN that’s available in my place so I knew nothing of it. My only source of kdrama was kbs world. When I first heard of Goblin I was like huh? A drama about that creature in LOTR? Nah!! It’s the least to my attention. Even when the Goblin memes party was a gaga I wasn’t affected in any way. Well I’ll forever regret that I missed the fun. (I’ve just stalked those memes 2 days ago)
The drama only came to my radar when I happened to be in Korean painting exhibition in April and there was a drawing of Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-wook in one frame with the caption “Goblin” (my friend took pictures but she said they’re no longer in her cam and her laptop’s crushed ☹)

Goblin ep.2: The show sure knew how to captivate viewers right from the opening scene. The Quebec’s sightseeing won my heart and I think my reaction was very much like Eun-tak. It’s still very early to tell Goblin Eun-tak romance but they’re heading there. I like that he out of curiosity first came looking for her since it was always Eun-tak who summoned him. How hilarious then to watch Goblin dying to expect her smoke signals and got on Reaper’s nerves for that. Their bickerings were gold and glad there are more to come. My favorite scene was the one in the Christmas decoration shop. Eun-tak’s genuine innocent smile startled Goblin right in there and Gong Yoo’s expression was precious that screenshot didn’t do any justice to it.
I could see why Eun-tak’s clinging to Goblin and proclaimed it out loud she wanted to marry him. Her whole life after mom’s passing was like a hell. An awful aunt with two awful cousins, terrible teacher and friends, and yet annoying ghosts. She had no one to turn to then this charming divine magically appeared, looking nice and able to do things. He maybe looked a bit old for him but that’s the least on her mind as long as he could take her to wonderful places and escape her pity little world that’s fine with her.

Goblin ep.1: WHOAH! WHAT IS THIS? A Tim Burton’s movie? Who’s the writer did you say? And who’s the PD? Why’s Gong Yoo an Ahjussi? I refuse to call him that. Where were all those alluring sceneries shot? My gadd Nam Da-reum! Pardon my flabbergast.
I was so taken aback since the very beginning at the opening clip. The stunning visual paired with Round and Round playing in background. I was swept into the fantasy but then suddenly twitched to the epic saeguk timeline which gave me strong Gladiator vibes, and transported to the dreamy present days with gloriously dashing Gong Yoo. Watching this is like stepping into the wonders of Narnia just keeps me in awe. I really couldn’t see any flaws in this pilot episode. Okay present days timeline was a little confusing at first but caught with it. And maybe a bit off with the bride being a high school girl but our Tokkaebi / Goblin doesn’t age while she does so still makes sense. Other than that it’s a perfect riveting start.

See???? It’s amazing! I just watched episode 8 again (well, half of it) with my kimchi group yesterday and as many dramas as I have seen since this one, nothing can compare to it. I think an actor is amazing, and then I watch Gong Yoo for 5 minutes, and I’m like—what was I thinking? I can’t wait to see your fan wall littered with appreciation for this absolutely enthralling drama!

FOREVER DAZZLING! Perfect description of Gong Yoo. He’s different in every role, but he seems so genuine every time. I love him the best in this—then I saw the BTS specials and I loved him even more! Don’t deprive yourself of those when you’re done.
