Are you supposed to make a wish when it’s the first snowfall of the year? ❄️

I’ve never done this because I really don’t like snow. The magic of snowfall disappeared when I had to start shoveling it!

😅 I think some other Beans mentioned the same thing sometime ago. They said they also didn’t like it when it became glassy and grey and brown: It became more difficult to commute.

My family tradition is to run outside and try to catch a flake on our tongue. Making hot chocolate on days it snows is another thing we do (it only snows a few times a year). I usually smell it coming and always think of it as a good omen, so I can relate to Lorelai.

Ohh this so cute Mugy! When you talked about smell the snow coming, I suddenly thought of Lorelai. I just watched that episode yesterday. I LOVE hot chocolate too, and ofc chocolate milk. But the tradition of running while sticking your tongue out seems a bit funny in my imagination, but interesting as well.

I mean we go outside quickly, then stand around trying to catch a snowflake on our tongue.

🤣 Ok that seems to be more ‘still.’ I will remember to do that the next time I see snowfall, but I’ll make a wish too.

When I first saw snow in Norway, I was so excited I stayed outside the house for almost an hour. Then, I asked my host family if I could coop up the snow and eat it with syrup and they were shocked before telling me that it wasn’t safe to eat it because it was dirty. They were amused as well lol. 😂

Yes, it’s probably not the best idea to eat the first flakes as they fall, but one can’t really hurt, right? If you’re going to eat it, it’s best to wait for fresh snow and just skim some from the top.

Omo! That’s right! I mean people here drank rainwater in the past because there was so little pollution back then, too. I think that should apply to snow as well. This is gonna be one of my bucket list of things to do in this life.
