Beanie level: Errand boy

Music March
My post yesterday made me think of movie OSTs. Here’s one from Phil Collins that still manages to make me teary.

I actually don’t remember much about the rest of the movies by now, but I always remember the scenes with Tarzan and mom.

I love Celine Dion. This is probably the only song of hers that made me cringe due to the associated memory with the movie Titanic. There are a lot of things to love about that movie that I think it is unfortunate that they chose to focus on the romance for almost the entire 3 hours and 30 minutes run.

When I first saw it, I thought, oh well, my aunts loved it and we got to spend the weekend together. The second time I saw it, I thought, at least I got a good long hours nap and the seat was super comfortable.

THEN, my best friend asked me to go for a third! I used up my entire energy to persuade her that there are other movies out there and that I’d already seen it TWICE! She managed to drag me. So there I was, watching it for the third time. I couldn’t nap this time. To this day, I’ve never let her forget how Titanic is the proof of my love for her. Whenever I hear this song though, I still cringe.

I have a special bond with my dad, so I have always had a soft spot for father-daughter relationships in real life, in movies or in dramas.

And here’s one of my favorite song, and thanks to technology, we have this amazing faher-daughter pair singing it.

Music March
If anyone asks me “What is the best time of your life?”, I answer without a doubt that it’s high school. It’s fun, thrilling, full of anticipations yet not too scary. It’s the best because of the people I interacted with at the time, my teachers and classmates. 💙💙

On graduation, we sang the chorus of this song.

Never say goodbye, never say goodbye
You and me and my old friends
Hoping it would never end
Never say goodbye, never say goodbye
Holdin’ on, we got to try
Holdin’ on to never say goodbye

We eventually had to say goodbye, but we’ve never said goodbye to the memory of high school. 🤘

Especially for @yyishere @hebang @katakwasabi @stpauligurl who currently watch Forest.

Perhaps this will be Oppa’s future?

I am not much of a classical music person although I can recognize a few and do enjoy listening to them. But there’s this particular piece that holds special memory.

It’s one my brother never failed to practice whenever I tried to nap. Like a hard-to-shake habit, he’d always managed to make mistake at the same spot and therefore had to play it all over again… and again… and again… and again…

To this day, whenever I hear this, it will remind me of my super annoying little brother
who is not so little anymore
who I love but will never ever admit that I am
who no longer plays piano but I am sure still remember how to play this piece
who will make mistake at the same spot… again.

Eun Ho is so sweet, but he’s also full of secrets. What are you up to, boy? 🤔

Young Jin… 😭😭💔

Park Hoon! He sounds like a hoot. I can’t wait to see what role he plays in all these.

The current King of Mask Singer, Chow Yun Fat, reminded me of this iconic soundtrack, iconic movie and iconic singer.

Not sure if I am in the mood for another serial killer, but I am certainly in the mood for Kim Seo Hyung. Cha Young Jin and Errand Boy Eun Ho are just adorable together.

Good day, beanies! I’m late to the game. I’ve been battling cold for days now and didn’t have the will nor energy to check DB or watch any dramas. Back to DB today and discovered we have a new theme!

Music has always been a big part of my life and my family’s. Even though none of us are professional musicians, we love music and singing. Whether or not we’re good at it, is another issue. Here’s one from my grandpa’s repertoire and a song I learned to sing when I was two. I had no idea what any of the words mean, but would perform the song to entertain the adults.

Every time I hear this song (it’s still quite popular and being played often nowadays), it always brings the fond memories of my childhood and guarantees to put a smile on my face.

RDTK2 16 (Final)

Show just had to make me cry on the last episode. 🥺🥺🥺

Things wrapped up nicely. I still don’t get Dr. Park (what was his problem in the first place and how did it get resolved?) and weasel got off too easy. If there’s season 3, I hope they don’t return. Same to you, crazy Do.

Now, nurse Park, Doc Yoon, Doc Bae and the rest of the casts, I’ll be glad to see.
If season 1 casts could join, that’s even better.

And… the cameo ended. [sniff…sniff…] 😢😢 Everyone (well, almost everyone) was happy to see him.

Are they going to let Kim Sabu off the hook for what he did with Director Yeo??

He’s finally here!!!

    Yes, at last!
And he’s the only reason why I’ll be watching the last two episodes.
I’m so disappointed by Kim Sabu in this episode.
He broke the law! His patient said didn’t want a reanimation and he went against his wishes. That is crazy (and illegal!!!!) and so very little Kim
Sabu. And we are talking about a terminal patient. Bringing him back to life will only bring him more pain. It’s useless and even cruel!!!

Yea. I am waiting to see how they are going to resolve that. Hopefully not by miracle healing like what they did with Eun Jae. 🙄

And just like that her trauma vanishes. Miracle healing. Pfftt…

Yoon Park couple is the only thing that keeps me going. Three more episodes to go. Sigh.

Oh, but I was so concerned when he let her hand go when EunJae came into the room. Areum was so sad, and Nurse Park didn’t realise 😕

#YJGS ep.10 (Final)

Wingman grandpa’s idea is pure genius. Apparently, the whole community was involved in the effort. Not surprising.

Grandpa’s love story remains bittersweet to the end. He went through a lot, but he remains the good man that he is. He could easily turn into a miserable selfish jerk, if this was a kdrama. Then again, I am glad this is not.

And that ending… is that hinting at Season 2??

Thank you beanies who recommended this little gem. I truly enjoy it.

Ah so glad you liked it. Regarding that scene I think it was an edited scene but they just somehow included it as an epilogue. I honestly think it was a mistake because even the dialogue wasn’t complete or probably viki didn’t get their hands on that epilogue.

glad to see that you enjoyed that little gem of a show <3 !!!

Hahaha. That was some twist to the fairytale. I swooned at Junlong off-tune rendition of the Sunshine song. 😍😍

That was SO fun also with him speeding up the song knowing that a garbage truck will spoil his moment.

#YJGS ep.9

Little Xiao Wu and grandma’s story breaks my heart. What’s up with all these irresponsible parents? Sigh…

Saying goodbye is the theme of this episode, and the hardest goodbye is the death of loved ones. Heh. Poor grandpas trio who had to bear the brunt of the aftermath. This drama stays true to its theme. How awesome it is that Junlong entire class came to his house for a class to cheer him up? And the entire community came together to help each other out?

I was bawling through a lot of scenes in this episode. But thank goodness this world is a small world. Soon, they’ll be with each other again. And hope of reconciliation is always something to look forward to.

“Little Xiao Wu and grandma’s story breaks my heart” when he called her late at night T_T

I loved that part “Junlong entire class came to his house for a class to cheer him up”, so touching

“I was bawling through a lot of scenes in this episode” and so did I ^^’

#YJGS ep.8

I don’t get those people who broke up with you but came back x number of years later professing undying love and claiming to never forget about you. Sorry sir, you are history, and history is always about the past and stays in the past.

Zhaojun’s mom is one of the worst in dramaland. She made her daughter’s life miserable for her own stupidity. She kept her for her own emotional punching bag. She got no tears nor sympathy from me.

All my tears and sympathy goes to Zhaojun. I am glad Junlong is there to give all the hugs she needed.

My views are different from yours though. What I liked best in this episode was how they gave the humanness to the evil characters as well. I have a soft spot for shows that make you realize that even the evil characters were human after all and they had their side of story as well that made them vulnerable, hateful and pitiful at the same time. Reagrding Zhaojun’s ex, I loved how politely all that was resolved. She just had to say no and it was over. Had it been a kdrama we would’ve seen a long confrontation scene and anger. But here it was just over with a no, I’ve moved on. I did like her ex, he was a noble idiot, he left her because she could live her life when he sacrificed his for hers and when he came back he found her. But here Zhaojun’s monolgue is my favorite dialogue that everything in the world has an expiry date, so does love. 10 years is a long time, junlong had to appear in that as Zhaojun’s perfect match.

I am also glad that the ex wasn’t clingy and was mainly there to get rid of mom. Definitely agree and am glad this is not a kdrama.

No sympathy nor pity for mom whatsoever. Those emotional scars she inflicted to Zhaojun negate all her humanness and supposed love. We’re lucky Zhaojun grew up alright. If this is a kdrama, … In this case, it’s probably better for her to leave baby daughter at the church.

All that said, I do like the humanness and that love coming from a community that this series portrayed. I had similar background to JunLong and grew up in such community, so I was extra invested in the story.

LOL. Nobody can tell you the truth like your lifetime buddies. Grandpa trio are a hoot. Grandpas are right though, the boy is smooooooth…

Why the long flashback to a romance I don’t care about? Just because of a cameo role from a famous actor? Gimme more Junlong and ZhaoJun! We only have 10 episodes total!

Grandpa trio as wingmen were hilarious 🙂

Heh. There’s always reasons. I just wish some of the flashbacks about them were shortened to make room for more cute.
