Beanie level: Noble idiot

Ghost Doctor: A jolly good show of surgery dedication & an element of fun. Very well acted, good script our two docs played off each other. Hospital doctors & nurses like you’ve never seen them before

Yes I really liked it the coma patients and the different personalities of the two doctors it was a really interesting watch and funny.

Yes, both docs learnt and grew – one found humanity and empathy the other what it meant to be a doctor.

Dare To Dream: Not really my cup of tea. I lasted all of 44 minutes.
Hospital Playlist: Maybe, maybe not. Will persevere and let you know.

Note from experience: HP is a slice of life drama. Try watching it slowly and with intervals, to avoid it getting boring or repetitive.

Dare to Dream the first time I tried was a big no for me, then I tried again a year or so later and once I got past episode four (I think) it got a lot better. But it was a struggle to start.

Dare to Dream leaves Netflix next month. With all that Kdrama has to offer, this one is in the not my cup of tea basket. Certain types just don’t interest me.

      1
      1

It’s not one I would rush out to urgently watch either – I liked it but if it’s not your thing I wouldn’t force it!

I’m not a fan of Go Kyung-pyo, Gong Hyo-Jin I didn’t take to and Jo Jung-suk is a bit prissy for my tastes. He played the merman in Legend of the Blue Sea and a King’s guard in The King 2 Hearts, I don’t dislike him he just comes across as a bit fragile.

      1
      0

I gave up the struggle 44 minutes into episode 1. I really couldn’t bare to watch any more. But then I’m like something with a bit of oomph! Tale of the Nine Tailed is more me, love that. Fantastic.

Dare to Dream / Jealousy Incarnate may not be everyone’s cup of tea. It’s for more mature audience, and the ML being a jerk is a big turn off to some people.

However, it is the BEST romcom in recent years in my book with nuanced characters for decipher over the course of 24 episodes.

I absolutely love it – every single minute in fact. Rewatched it twice already and it’s like fine wine, I love it better with each RE-watch.

    2
    1

I LOVE JI too, and I think people are quick to judge Hwashin as a jerk when he is actually one of the most complicated and nuanced male leads ever written. He is actually one of my most favorite kdrama characters.
You saying that it is for more mature audience is so so true. I have had too many cases of cancer around me in this past decade and I guess this show hits me completely differently from some other viewers.
I loved reading how much you love it too. I have rewatched it maybe 50 times already.

It’s so interesting to read the range of responses to DtD/JI. I watched the whole thing but didn’t actually enjoy it. I forced myself to, for some reason that I don’t understand. I applaud you for recognising it’s not your cup of tea and moving on!😅

It’s also interesting to see that it’s considered a drama for a more mature audience – I’m definitely older but clearly not very mature!🤣

    1
    1

Hahaha! I too am definitely older but obviously not very mature. When I look in the mirror, I am xx old but in my head I am 22!

      1
      1

This is 100% my experience. I find it very confusing! No one warned me that ageing meant having to act my age as I certainly don’t do that!

Hello all, what have you been watching lately? Me? It’s the Tale of the Nine Tailed for the third time. Some shows belong in the “You can watch it again” basket and Nine Tails is one of them.

Go ahead is my favourite Chinese drama 😊 I don’t watch that many but the girl’s dad is not a character we see in any drama and he did such a great job meeting the very different needs of the three children.

I’ve been watching it in chunks but it was enough to figure out the story. Really loved it and yeah the dad is awesome!

Little Women the Oh sisters, is a fantastic new spin on the original, two older sisters are great, poor little sister – rich bitch takes credit for her artwork. Dead bookkeeper – Murder Most Foul!

Finished watching Cheongdam-dong Alice, so glad I skipped several episodes. Silly series really, too much faffing about, Moon Geun-young is a PITA, liked So Yi-hyun “Tommy Hong” was a cutie.

I know I am going to love The Queen’s Umbrella ☂ even though Kdramas don’t hit Australian shores until after everybody else sees them I shall be waiting for the day. Lovely music, very poignant, thanks for the video.

Currently watching Cheongdam-dong Alice, got to episode 5 decided to skip to episode 13. Now on ep 15. I really don’t like the lead actress, Moon Geun-young. Everyone else is alright, just not her.

Princess Prosecutor was a fun ride with humour & drama. It shows the growing of a self-centred ditsy female into a mature thinking and helpful person. I loved the plot and chemistry of our two leads!

I would recommend Couple or trouble! The FL also has a nice character development.

Thanks for reminding me I have to watch PP. ^^

Thank you Tabong, I’ll see if Couple or Trouble is on YouTube. It’s not on Netflix. I have found Kdramas which are no longer on Netflix are often on Youtube.

I had to clear my iPad of all data and websites so I could login and post here. This has happened a few times, don’t know why, but I’m able to share my Kdrama thoughts. Prosecutor Princess will be 1st

Hello Ally, what is the Midwest? I have heard the term but what places or state would that be? I was lucky enough to meet the fellas who were taking part in the Myanmar Racing Competitions in 2020.

Sawadee ka! I still remember a few phrases from when I was in Thailand. I had the most wonderful time in Thailand, mainly travelled on overnight trains. On the BKK to CM line, I shared a table with four transport police and the gf of one of them – there were many signs “No Smoking” which of course everybody ignored!

Mi-rae in My ID is Gangnam Beauty is starting to get on my nerves, I’ve had it up to here 😬with her wimpy low self-esteem. Grow a backbone. Simpering Snake Sua needs a Blundstone enema! Horrible girl

For all the hype about Extraordinary Attorney Woo, while Park Eun-bin was brilliant as Young Woo and I loved the characters of her colleagues, the ending was disappointing. I wouldn’t rewatch it.

Cha Seung-won and Lee Seung-gi go together like Jeon & Makgeolli, Tteokbokki & Twigim, Fried Chicken & Beer! They make You’re All Surrounded a sheer pleasure to watch Rewatched 10/10🧑🏻‍✈️👨‍✈️👨‍✈

I love them together, even LSG’s cameo in Greatest Love is really fun.

I haven’t seen that one. Love them both in A Korean Odyssey. Has a different name I think in South Korea, begins with H.

Hwayugi – I like that one too.

The Greatest Love is an older Cha Seungwon rom com drama – Lee Seunggi just pops up as himself for a couple of minutes.

RE prior post – My Sassy Girl? Jung Da-yeon (Kim Yoon-hye) had her mixed up with Kim So-hyeon is a two-faced little minx. Oh Yeon-seo does Princess Precocious beautifully, Joo Won looks good in silks

Hello Beanies, I’m looking for the name of a sageuk with Kim So-hyeon who played a not very nice girl, yangban family, father was punished for his crimes, she was made a slave. That’s all I remember.

1
5

I never got far into it, but is this Moon Embracing the Sun? She was the second female lead in that and I’m sure her scheming family was punished by the end.

    0
    1

I don’t think so. I remember her father spoiled her and would give her whatever she asked for. She wanted to marry a certain young man whom she loved but he loved someone else.

      1

You did the right thing calling in the Beanies if the drama exists they will find it. The other option is Asian wiki if you look up the actress it will list all the dramas she have been in and when you click on the drama name they usually bring up the page with cast pictures from the drama then you can see if you recognise any of the other actors and you can then go into Viki/Netflix to watch a clip just to be sure.

For those who haven’t seen it yet, I thoroughly recommend “Sell Your Haunted House” – an exorcist with a chip in her shoulder meets a psychic with a past that entwines with hers. Sparks fly!

SHE WOULD NEVER KNOW did grow on me, happy endings for most of our couples, some sad like Hyun-seung’s BIL (the doc), pleased to see Jae-shin turn his life around, Hyo-joo and Han-joo also.

I admit to enjoying She Would Never Know more than I though I would. It’s episode 8 and Hyun-seung’s ex girlfriend has shown up wanting him back – man is she bad news for our couple!
