I’m behind on Meteor Garden and keep getting worried that I’ll be spoiled — despite having read/watched nearly every version of Hana Yori Dango available.

    It’s a mix of the original Meteor Garden and Hana Yori Dango. It’s interesting how their adapting story lines which surprised me. I’m getting quite impatient because it’s a show you’ll want to marathon but we got two extra episodes this week so I’m happy. It seems Netflix changed the scheduling and I was told we could have two more episodes tonight. Hoping and praying for that to happen.

Just started watching MG today and I’m already caught up to ep 6 so now I have to wait a week for more episodes. I’m a sad pineapple. Somebody hold me.

    I’m tempted to re-watch a few episodes to gif a few scenes,i.e. the cake falling onto his face. Maybe screenshot a few more 🍍hair faces.

METEOR GARDEN REMAKE!!!! In all my Hanadan-loving years, I’ve always fallen for the Rui character, but for the first time ever my heart is immediately with Dao Ming Si (or mebbe just with Dylan Wang)

    RIGHT? I never thought I’d like Dao Ming Si this early. Hahahaha. For me though, I think it really helped that the Chinese government mandated them to not have the bullying parts. Because then he’s more of a pull-your-pigtails guy than a real bully.

      Yeah! I know some people are complaining about the mandated changes, but honestly I feel like it’s more relatable somehow? Like… I adore the 2005 Japanese version which is the version I compare all others to, but… if this one continues like this, it might make some serious competition for my favorite Hanadan.

        I read a post explaining why such changes were made and it made sense. Online bullying suits 2018 more than throwing flour and eggs!

        True! It’s really shaping up to be a good one. My fave would have to be BOF and the original Meteor Garden, but I dunno one of those might get knocked down by this one.

      I think it’s a good thing because it’s going along with the times. I rewatched the original when the remake was announced and I couldn’t believe I loved Dao Ming-si wholeheartedly then because he’s such a jerk and my now feminist self does not approve at all.

    And this guy is barely 19, and apparently I can’t call him Chinese oppa. 😅😅🙈 But I’m in the same league as you and he probably wins over go Jun pyo. ^^
    On a side note , does anyone know if this version is more true to the manga? I heard this one will have 48 episodes and will cover more of the sub-stories, so I’m really curious. I do realize that the bullying is very low key here which is great, cause I hate bullies. Also there’s only this card game F4 does which is also on the manga as per wiki? Lol pardon the ignorant one here.
    And apparently Dao Ming Si is quite smart and talented, which is making lesser sense by each episode haha.
