Beanie level: Chaebol’s poor doppelganger

My kdrama watching coworkers were talking today at lunch…we work near a Korean consulate and wondered if we should legit go over and offer part time work to anyone willing to sub Pretty Noona for us

Anyone else loving Switch as much as me?

I literally just finished ep 3 and came here to post about it 😄

yay! i did not like the cliffhanger for ep 4 but I think mostly I’m sad that his scene with rockstar clothes was too shortlived lol

    Yup. I’m totally into it.

Episode 3 was much more fun! JGS’s comic timing is perfect and it was hilarious watching him use his company card several times lol. Now shallow me is waiting for oppa to go to the army so he can shed that several pounds on the cheek. 😀

LOL i was so amused that they referenced his weight gain on wed night’s eps…he still looks so cute in his indie rockstar clothes though <3

I am obsessed with this Levi’s commercial…Kai dancing through the streets of Seoul and then on a rooftop view with Namsan tower included <3

What a great MV/”collaboration campaign film”! Although I got slightly nervous when he did all those turns a little bit too close to the edge of the rooftop 😆

So I don\’t really have a lot to say about friendship in kdramas but I really hope the theme for May is mother-daughter relationships as I have sooo much to say on that. I always think about Oh Hae Young and her mother (Another Oh Hae Young) first when I think about great moms in kdramas. There is a currently airing drama titled “Mother” too which would probably provide great commentary on the subject. I’m not watching it but if anyone wants to bend my ear about why I should watch it, I’d be willing to listen and consider it 

Great suggestion, I’d like that too!

Oooo, I would be all over this theme, except instead I’d pick Kim Mi-kyung’s other great mom role in her recent drama Go Back Couple. She’s pretty much secretly the most important character of that drama and her and Jang Nara’s lovely mother-daughter relationship often reduced me to tears.

What about the next theme month being about Kim Mi-Kyung. She is simply fantastic. I wouldn’t be able to pick one favorite role of her.

Oh yeah I’ve heard great things about Go Back Couple and it is on my list as it looks super cute! I’m currently watching 20th Century Boy and Girl where she also played the mom and funnily enough both dramas aired at the same time. The woman works hard for the money yo! Anyway I watched ep 10 last night and Kim MiKyung’s character was speaking to my soul lol…she was telling her daughter that she needs to work at finding the one and not just sit around hoping it happens haha, she’s just so great at playing a mom!

hyped to get home from work and watch Evergreen….this first OST is lit y’all

funny enough that this month\’s theme is strong friendship here on dramabeans as I am currently watching Age of Youth and 20th Century Boy and Girl which features these really beautiful friendships that are usually lacking in kdramas

Happy valentine’s y’all! Revolutionary Love really wasn’t a good drama but this OST is 😀 <3

Anyone have a good recommendation for a drama that will keep me wide awake? I keep falling asleep to dramas lately and I blame it on the winter weather. Maybe I\’m watching shows that are too light

Save Me (Rescue Me). If that doesn’t keep you up at night, then I’m not sure what will.

    1
    1

ah yes I’ve heard it’s crazy intense…should probably try that one this winter then 😀

Chicago Typewriter. I’m watching it right now and it’s really suspenseful at first and now it’s really funny. I’m thinking there’s a lot of angst coming though.

It will keep you awake until the end for sure!

oh nice! I think I’ll try Chicago Typewriter then 😀

I liked CT, but it wasn’t at all a drama to keep one awake. It was moody and well-written, but not thrilling or intense.

      1
      1

hmm yeah it aired when I was visiting Korea last spring so I watched parts of the later episodes raw and it never fully got my interest…I do keep hearing good things about it though and Go Kyung Pyo is one of my favorite actors 😀

Sometimes I relate a lot to Yoo Jung sunbae’s awkward moments like when I ask my coworkers about food everyday…Park Hae Jin is too cool though

I’m rewatching Cheese in the Trap and as the first time, I still relate so strongly to Hong Seol. She is the heartbeat of this show.

13
2

YES she is! I like how her reactions are..mm…normal? Should I say familiar? She’s like your friend who is a bit messy in her personal life and sometimes she does things/has relationships that are unwise or unhealthy for her life but she is trying to figure herself out too.
I liked it & completed the series but when I rewatch I’m mostly there for Hong Seol, her couple best friends and Baek In-ho.

    2
    1

Yes she is normal! I see myself in her…in soooo many ways it is crazy! I too have naturally curly hair that is a mess but I embrace it and don’t straighten it too often. The way she reacts to all the first stages of a relationship are so relatable!

And omg I miss Euntak and Bora when they haven’t been on screen for a bit…I just love them too! I really like Baek InHo yet I can’t say I had Second Lead Syndrome. I’m entertained by him and think he’s cute and I personally like the love triangle here too

they look alike, it’s the hair cut 😉 , I just finished the latest 1n2d ep 10min ago 🙂 , couldn’t watched it in one go on Monday (JBL ep9 raw hahaha) *shh I prefer Yoo Il Yong PD shh*

As the year comes to a close…I just have to say I have no favorite dramas of 2017…I must’ve watched the wrong dramas 🙁
I enjoyed about half of the dramas I watched but none felt special enough to be considered a favorite. Here’s pics of the 4 dramas that I did like this year.

I am surprised 7 Day Queen wouldn’t have ranked as a fave. From everything I’ve heard it’s amazing and emotional. Grant you I have yet to see it and probably never will – my heart can’t handle shows like this. Of the rest on your list I dropped every single one except The Package 😅

So I loved Seven Day Queen but I don’t think I could rewatch it so it is *almost* a favorite. There were a few weaknesses with the drama such as that the main couple never felt that epic or romantic to me, there was something lacking as it was a subdued relationship. That’s why I can’t rank it as a favorite. As much as it made me cry, it was mostly for the friendships and family relationships. The ending scene was heartbreakingly spectacular, I will give it that. I just wish the romance/love story was a bit more developed.

Sooo I wonder what this month’s theme will be…surprised no alternate ending for Cheese in the Trap was published. I figured there’d be a lot of written entries about it. I thought about writing one but figured I’d be in stiff competition. Also, I didn’t hate the ending of Cheese in the Trap. In fact I am planning on doing a CITT rewatch this month 😀
Also, I better get the Cheese in the Trap movie in the first half of 2018 or so help me…!

I actually wanted to send in my entry for CITT since I’ve already written an alternate ending for it for myself, but I realized it’s too long to edit, 40K words is a bit too much, I didn’t know how to make it into 5K 😅

Yes, can we get the movie already, Please!

    4
    1

haha you should share your alternate ending with us, I’d be curious to read it! 😀

my alternate ending is just to show Hong Seol and sunbae reconnecting after he reads her emails…at least give us a glimpse of them meeting up again

      1
      1

I’ll think about it, I’m just too embarrassed to let beanies read it, once I’ll get over that, I’ll post it on my wall!

Exactly, I just wanted them to meet!

So did Temperature of Love really end this week? I’m a couple of weeks behind on watching but all I do lately is just stare at second male lead’s very handsome face

Yes, yes it did. Hope that wasn’t a rhetorical question. 😁

So I leveled up to Noble Idiot haha…the first time I saw this trope was in Secret Garden (my 1st kdrama) and it was pretty painful to watch esp at the letter writing scene. Cried real tears y’all :/
