Beanie level: Water maid

Just finished Hot Stove League…

I’m so sad it’s over, but I also just want to give every character a hug and tell them they did well.

I loved this drama so much. I watched it because the beanie wall was full of love for it and even I didn’t know anything about Baseball decided to give it a try. Best decision ever!!

I did not understand the hype at first but when Tablo of Epik High talked about it on his podcast I gave it a try. I reeled in my husband to watch it me because I don’t know anything about baseball and we both ended up loving this drama.

Not a comment on the drama, but rather, something off topic— I have Park Eun Bin hair envy 😍😍😍😍😍

This drama is doing something really interesting with the dynamic of childhood best friends/first loves/unrequited feelings and I like it a lot.

Uh-oh, I really like these two as friends.

Double uh-oh, I took these screen caps just before they had the cutest little scene talking to each other about the girl they both like without either of them knowing it’s the same girl…

There are going to be tears before we’re done here, aren’t there?

One of my favourite parts of the A Love So Beautiful novel was Xiaoxi complaining about the ridiculous things the clients at work make her do because that is also my life.

Browsing DB with one hand because my cat is napping on top of the other.

I\’ve started reading a fan translation of the novel of A Love So Beautiful.

They really did change a whole lot for the drama adaption, huh.

    *SPOILERS*

I do like that in the novel their kiss at the hospital comes after they agree to get back together and it’s mutual, rather than the drama where it’s honestly verging on assault.

That being said, adult Jiang Chen in the novel is somehow more obnoxious than in the drama. You ask to get back together then immediately give Xiaoxi a list of chores you want her to do for you? I’m sure there are cultural differences at play but like… come on.

A Love So Beautiful has given me the biggest drama hangover I’ve had in a really long time.

Any suggestions for dramas with similar mood/themes?

Did a whole lot of bingeing and finished A Love So Beautiful.

I have a whole lot of thoughts (spoilers beware).

It was really cute! I really like stories about friends growing up together, and it has that lifelong friends-to-lovers trope that I adore. I shipped Xiaoxi and Bosong really hard early on, but I lost a lot of enthusiasm for the couple when Bosong didn’t back off after Xiaoxi made it clear she wasn’t interested and that his actions were making her uncomfortable.

I came around to Jiang Chen a little, but I’m still not super on board. Also I’m still really mad about both kisses while they were broken up. The first time he made her think he was cheating on his girlfriend with her, the second he was treating her for a head injury not even an hour after she told him she didn’t want to get back together!

I love Xiaoxi and Jingxiao, both as individual characters and as friends. I wish I’d had a best friend like Jingxiao when I was a teenager. I love how open and direct Xiaoxi is. I also really liked seeing her reunite with Li Wei at the wedding, that was such a sweet moment.

Those are my exact thoughts on all the characters. Bosung seesaw-ed between intuitiveness and obtuseness.

I didn’t feel the romance on Jiang Chen’s side either, at least not until episode 22 and episode 23. All the cute was completely one sided.

The friendship of the two couples was very cute, but I felt Bosung was often pushed to the side in their friendship. Jingxiao had a very big sister/motherly vibe in her friendship with Xiaoxi which I appreciated.

It\’s been a busy week at work but I finally found time to catch up on Jugglers.

There\’s going to be a lot to resolve in just two episodes.

Earlier today, I had this same thought. For a minute there I actually said to myself that perhaps they could do with one more episode.

Both of this week’s episodes felt really rushed? In terms of plot. There was so much happening, I struggled to keep up.

I really hope they can wrap everything up satisfyingly.

Cute but in what universe are matching fluffy toy keychains any less conspicuous than couple rings?

I just noticed that This Week, My Wife Is Having An Affair is on Netflix… but called Listen to Love? Why the name change? It makes things so confusing.

Aside from confusion, it’s also a terrible title for that drama.

Netflix has changed almost every kdrama title in its catalog. For reasons known only to itself. And yes, it makes it extremely difficult to search for a show.

    5
    3

Changing the titles like that makes it seem so shady, like Netflix didn’t actually license the drama and changed the title to try and get away with it.

I was shocked it kept the title for “Misaeng” instead of changing it to something dumb.

I had no clue Ms. Temper and Nam Jung-gi was on Netflix until recently despite scrolling past it several times because it’s under the title “My Horrible Boss”.

It’s almost like they don’t want kdrama viewers to find the shows they are looking for. It’s frustrating, and frankly, kind of stupid of them.

Gong Yoo’s “Age of Shadow’s” is also on Netflix now–as predicted. Netflix loves Gong Yoo (Train to Busan and Silenced are also on Netflix). Unsolicited, I know, but you know, I must spread the love. Also, “Hello, my 20’s” is the same as Age of Youth. Another one is Witches’ Romance, under the title of “Secret Healer.” And Forest of Secrets, under “Stranger.” Someone should put a blog up about what titles are on Netflix and what their original titles are. Kmovies aren’t usually a problem, just kdramas. Actually, there is… https://asianaddictsanonymous.com/lists/asian-dramas-streaming-on-netflix/
    Hope this helps!
