I’m so sorry you had to experience this
🙁 I hope it doesn’t ruin your love for the rest of the Dramabeans community, the content of the site, and the hard work that goes into keeping the site going

It’s fine, you didn’t know anything, and you’ve pointed out that you don’t, and usually won’t, go out of your way to look into the personal life of celebrities you enjoy the work of, which I think is fine

I’ve had some (not simply 1) not-so-good encounters with the same person (not going to call them a Beanie, because I believe that actual Beanies won’t go about attacking others) and I have since stopped responding to them about any and everything they post, respond to, and reply to for my own Fan Wall posts and for others. It’s just not worth it to engage in online conflicts where the other person doesn’t want to stop.

Thank you for your kind words. Disagreement is fine and should never be discouraged or censored. For the post in question, however, I believe that the words were written to antagonize.

I still find myself censoring my opinions (on larger topics), especially since they are not always aligned with popular views. I worry about sharing certain thoughts. But in the case of dramas, movies, and music, I usually don’t worry as much. Once again, thank you. 🙂

You didn’t deserve that level of vitriol, and you made an honest assessment of the actor based on the knowledge you had. Also – in this particular case, it’s not as if were complicit in the actors behavior by enjoying their work. Granted I don’t have the full scope of the picture in regard to the controversy, but from what I do know and saw from your post, you did not do anything to elicit such a response.

I’m truly sorry this happened to you. I’ve also had similar interactions. I’ve learned to ignore them since I’m only interested in debating opinions with people who choose to be civilized and not simply accusatory. Part of the appeal of this site is that it has been a safe space for discourse on a number of topics and ideas where disagreement is usually met with respect. Unfortunately we cannot choose who engages with us, but we can choose how to respond (or not respond).

I’ve also had less than pleasant interactions with the individual in question…I’ve learned to avoid them since no good has come of those interactions. It’s best to ignore them since responding only leads to more baseless accusations.

I just realized that my post seems to be missing. I can only see the replies. I wonder what happened.
