Beanie level: Noble idiot

Your favorite drama has an unholy alliance with your most hated drama and produces a mutant baby drama. Describe the plot.

A midnight errand boy has to go undercover at an elite nail salon where only flower boys work. He notices immediately that one of the flower boys is really a girl. He’s trying to find out about his father’s death but ends up stuck helping the nail techs solve customers’ problems way beyond their paygrade including ghosts that rape and abusive partners. He’s really close to finding out the truth about his father when he learns that the owner is a gumiho and the girl in disguise is her daughter. At this point, shit is too weird for our errand boy and he gets out of there, giving up on finding the truth.

I don’t think I’m witty enough for this, but if someone can come up with a plot using Six Flying Dragons and the Flower Boy series, that would probably be it.

Which Hallyu celebrity would you actually want to meet and spend an hour with?

Ryu Jun Yeol. He speaks English and he seems super charming. I would just make him try to laugh so I could see his adorkable grin.

Favorite TV show is reserved for the ones I grew up with: Gilmore Girls and Supernatural
Movie: I just one day clicked on n#1 on imdb and watched that one. I agree with it’s placing. I also really loved The Bucket List partly also because of when, where and with whom I watched it.

What’s a random skill you have?

I have tons. I tend to try lots of new things to find new hobbies but few stick. I know some simple yo-yo tricks. I can hula hoop and do tricks with that.

Maybe recognizing voices? I don’t know, I don’t have any particular skills/talents. Oh, I can make people laugh even if they are very sad. I don’t know if I am funny though or just ridiculous.

What was your major in school?

I started out as pre-nursing but decided that if I hated working with people in retail, nursing was not going to be any better. I switched to computer information systems.

What drama character would you want to be?

Hye Sung from I Hear Your Voice. She was confident and bold. Plus she had a telepathic puppy who always had her back.

    The female Healer.

Although I didn’t like her that much at the beginning and she wasn’t my favorite character in that drama later on either and her life was really difficult and short, I do have to say that I admired Eun Tak from Goblin a lot by the end. But I think I am okay with who I am. ^^ Hit me up though if there is ever a character that has my family and friends, is a successful doctor + writer, travels a lot and has good health, looks and a long life (and maybe has the ability to manipulate time? >.>) Otherwise – Nah 😋

Is there a drama character you’ve ever strongly identified with, and why?

3

Ahjumma from Healer. I knit, I’m good at finding people and information on the internet, I like to eat kimbap. Just give me a dark room with food, knitting, and a computer and I’m happy. I’m also a bit cranky like her. And yes, if bad guys came after me, I’d grab my finished objects too.

There’s so many. Fierce like Byun Hye-young, timid like Cha Eun-sang, weird like Shin Mi-rae, stubborn like Ji Hae-soo.

I don’t hate sageuk, but they aren’t my cup of tea. Which is a shame because they are so pretty. Also medical dramas. So boring.

I’m not too fond of noona romances. At least I haven’t liked any I’ve seen, I just didn’t like the men. Actually, I did like High School King of Savvy but I was more in love with Lee Soo-hyuk than Seo In-guk. The main romance was cute though. Am I contradicting myself? Lol.

High schoolers and Sageuks. I’m old and can’t get excited about the high school dramas anymore.

Despite being in my late 30’s, I oddly do enjoy them. Maybe because they seem like an alternative to all the chaebol/candy dramas out there.

I like all dramas as long as they can hold my interest and make me feel the right emotions.

Thrillers, capers, slice of life, the occasional clever rom coms. I like my shows smart with a bit of action.

Anything time travel! Wait, is that a genre? ^^’ mystery then, yes I like a good mystery. However, I watch anything as long as it’s good and will probably give also the bad ones at least a try. ^^

Have you ever lived a moment that you thought belonged in a drama?

0
6

Answer Me 1997 is practically my life story. I was in high school around that same time and had a similar group of friends. I had the best friend that liked me and the gay best friend. In my case, I liked the gay friend. I had an incident with the friend that liked me on my 22nd birthday that led us to stop speaking to each other. It was only 15 years later that I realized I had liked him too. Sadly, while he pops up in my life every few years, we hang out once, then he won’t see me again for a few more years.

Oh no :/ is there no way for you to become closer again? Missed opportunities and estranged friendships, how sad.

I keep trying but it’s tough. He’s in a bad spot in life right now. He’s divorced with three kids. He’s working two jobs and living with his parents right now. My life isn’t all wine and roses as I have a chronically ill mother that dominates a lot of my time, but things look pretty good on the surface since I have a great job and just bought a house this year. I feel like he’s not going to attempt real friendship until he’s in a better spot.

Ah….I emphasise with him a little, I know the feeling of wanting to be standing in a better place before you contact friends. The most helpful think then is always if they don’t ask about the situation in question and just focus on something completely unrelated when we meet. Sometimes being there for a person means keeping a certain distance be abuse closing that distance might feel more like nosiness to the other person. But I think you shouldn’t try to stay in contact 🙂 just being careful of his boundaries for now like you have been might be good

My whole life is a makjang drama, lol. If I was to write it all here, it would be like airing dirty laundry in public.

Missed a train in China once. Didn’t speak hardly any Chinese. Managed to get myself on the next train and onto my next destination with only a little fuss and then managed to somehow crash the train’s staff meeting in the dining car. Why they didn’t throw me (and my travel buddy) out, I have no idea. They probly didn’t know what to do with these gringos who they couldn’t communicate with.

I’ve worked fast food, retail, and tech support. But I’ve actually been with my current employer for almost 11 years. I started at this health insurance company as a customer service rep but over the years have worked my way into what is essentially a fraud think tank. We think of things that doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies would do to defraud the company and see what we can find in the claims data. If something looks odd, we search the web for any information or red flags that support what we think is happening. Then we send the subject to our investigation team. I’ve found crazy things in the role and my work has led to at least one person getting arrested.

Stocked shelves overnight at a Target. I had the health and beauty section because the men were afraid of feminine products.

LOL! Men are such delicate creatures! *eyeroll* I spent 8 years at Target, though I only did a few overnight planograms. I was mainly cashier, guest service, fitting room, cash office, and the ever dreaded food avenue.

Now that Circle has ended, I’ve finally started it. On one hand, I’m sad that I didn’t watch it while it was airing. On the other, I get to marathon it. So far, I’m loving both parts of the story.
