Beanie level: Errand boy

Is anyone watching Hello, it’s Me? I couldn’t get through the 15 minutes.

    many people are liking it..

i, however, am on the fence. ML is capable of all cuteness.. but not sure if story has anything meaty to hold interest for long. I can predict the storyline from miles away.

even before they introduced younger versions, actor having a history with FL was obvious, bro and sis in law shadiness is obvious

I watched the whole first episode but was only ok. If I can’t find anything better I might go back.

I thought first episode was okay. However, I found second episode rather dull. I think KYK is fun in this, and the guy who plays the actor is bombastic and interesting as usual. But overall the show is not working well for me.

It’s silly and fun, but pretty sure they message will be poignant. KWK plays these spoiled characters so well and then somewhere in the middle of them, he breaks down and hits you with a ton of bricks. TOD’a notwithstanding, I’m in it for the remainder.

I watched the first two episodes, but that is it for me. I really don’t like the main character or her younger counterpart.

    1
    1

I watched it because I was bored and it appeared as a recommendation on Netflix. I watched the two episodes available and loved them! Admittedly about to give up around the 10 minute mark but I continued and really liked it.

Viki used to have deals for the annual sub but not since DramaFever folded.

I feel sad. It didn’t really sink in that Got7 disbanded until I saw that Mark was home. A gif of Got7 is what set me down my k-entertainment path. Of all the groups I started with 7 or so yrs ago only BTS remains unchanged. I guess it’s true, all good things must come to an end.

Im still holding on to a tiny, tiny bit of hope (as much as I try not to) theyve all said that they still want to work together and release music together as GOT7 and that they are going to take this time to establish themselves in their solo careers first. Of course this is what nsync said when Justin released his first solo album behind everyones back. Nsync is more than a group of guys who do music together. Were best friends – no, brothers! And we all know how that turned out. But for now Im holding on to the small moments that Ive seen on social media (all these years later I still dont know how to post a pic in comments! Grr) but for example someone tweeted out that they had just joined the fandom and wtf was even happening right now? And BamBam responded to chill out theres still GOT7 and there would still be GOT7 music down the road.
GOT7 just couldnt exist as GOT7 under that label anymore. And really I cant blame them. They really did get treated like crap. So hopefully, theyll be more like the BSB and really will continue releasing music and evolving like they say they want. Well see?

It’s sad how bad they were treated. I bet they’re happy they can have a life and work too. JB hasn’t said what his plans are but I wouldn’t be surprised if he waited until after the army.

I’ve been feeling all weird and emo about this too. I don’t even really follow them, but they’re such a fun group and one of the first ones I knew about.

I have been an Errand Boy since Oct 22, 2018.

LOL I was thinking, I bet I’ve been living on the rooftop for at least three years 😮 But I really don’t want to take on all the work of being a loan shark 🤣

I felt like I’ve been an Errand boy for the longest time but then I just realized that I’ve only been one in 2020. So youre our Sunbaenim. ❤️

I’m your hoobae, but I hear you. I’m wondering now if this is permanent incarceration for me.

what kills me is that the Beanie Admins just ignore all these observations on the frustration with the purgatory state of the Errand Boys. I really don’t understand why.

      2

C’mon, you can do it. We’ll have a wonderful party at the rooftop soon!!!

    1
    1

the thing is, if we knew WHAT exactly was to be done, we the Eternal Errand Boyz would do it. It’s been since October 29, 2018 at 12:21 PM. Every now and again, I publicly complain about this, and to date, we still haven’t figured out what the algorithm is. This purgatory is wholly discouraging and tiresome, and the Beanie Admins have just chosen to ignore us.

Well, don’t look at me. I only stayed an errand boy for four moths, I think (don’t hate me!!). I think the main thing is to make comments on recaps. That’s the only thing I that I can think that worked for me.

I see you. Melanin, Afro and all.
this is purgatory for reasons that no one will ever know.

Are we watching Lovestruck or nah? Give me the consensus before I get my hopes up. JCW let me down last time.

I’ve watched the first two episodes and I like the format.
It’s just 12 episodes of 30 minutes each.
    So far, I like it.

Go for it. There’s a reason Kim Ji Won also picked this drama.

    1
    1

Uh… she also picked Arthdal. Her picking something does not make much of a recommendation.

      2
      1

I meant she seem to know what she’s looking for in her dramas after the success of DotS. I would have pick Arthdal too if it was offered to me.

Uncanny Counters, episode 3, soooooo the whole police is corrupt?

Not watching this show, but it could be for dramatic effect or for thematic purposes. For what it’s worth, the police in the country from which my parents originally came is rotten to the core.

I have 16 beans. Idk where to allocate them though. I’m so torn. Side note: I’ve been running errands for 2 yrs now. Lol.

Watching Weekly Idol for the first time in a while. What 8s going on with Kwang Hee’s face?! I almost didn’t recognize him.

Am I the only one here watching Homemade Love Story?

The Spies Who Loved Me, is Joo Hwan the SLM…AGAIN? Also, where is everyone watching this? I wish it was on a legal site.

I knew Jo Bo Ah would be the weak link in TotNT. Reading through the recap comments I see a lot of people agree. LDW and KB are the only reasons I will finish this drama. Maybe not live watch though.

3
3

She’s not terrible, it’s just that putting her next to LDW and KB makes the weaknesses obvious. An actress with more experience and gravitas would help make that OTP relationship more interesting and would add some crackle to it. LDW oozes confidence; it’s a pity for him that he’s not playing opposite an actress who is his equal in that department (I don’t know why, but Ha Ji-won comes to mind).

    3
    1

I agree with you. In fact, I like Jia and I don’t thing JBA is doing a bad job, she’s doing fine, but… man… you can’t win against LDW and KB. You can’t steal scenes from them. No way.

      3
      1

I will admit this is the first role I can tolerate her in.

@db-staff can we get an option to turn off the video player please?

I don’t have a problem with closing it every time. What I do have a problem with though is what is the point of showing dramas?? Like it started showing a random episode of The Entertainer. You could watch variety or concerts randomly, but who would watch ep 9 of a random show with no context??

    1
    1

Hahahahahha ME! Guilty of watching random eps of YFAS and Pinocchio. Since i’ve seen both i didn’t mind but i do think they play it by order of episodes – only we don’t know the timing.

      1
      1

I would watch random eps of Pinocchio too! I know it by heart and would love it! but I haven’t encountered it or any other shows except for Entertainer and another show that I didn’t recognize, although I check db multiple times every day. Yeah, not knowing the schedule is very weird.

If We Were a Season: Did she not like the best friend? Did she start liking the new guy and her father’s affair made her realize it? Was she going to Seoul to be with new guy? I need answers. Help!

0
5

What type of answers do you want?? Spoiler-y ones or one that are of assurances??

    1
    1

She was emotionally confused – I think she may have started to realize her feelings for her best friend, but when it coincided with the reveal that her father was having an affair the emotional turmoil and confusion had her back out because she didn’t want the friendship to change. She may have also started liking the new guy, but not because of the affair – because he actually treated her like a girl unlike her best friend. But instead of these emotions playing out, she had her whole world turned upside down when she learned of the affair. It dominated anything else she felt for anyone. Which makes sense. And as a result, all her feelings were tainted, and she couldn’t clearly assess what her feelings were. She probably didn’t want to change any of her other relationships. But it also made her stop and look inward, and stop having to present this perfect student image to the world; she essentially rebelled against both what she was used to and against her feelings.

I don’t think she was going to be with new guy. She was just leaving home and taking a gap year (which was unexpected of a perfect student like her). I think the ending was supposed to show us that she finally finding the balance. By leaving her home she was starting fresh, but by making up with her best friend they reopen the door to re-starting their relationship – in any form. I love that ambiguity, because they could go back to who they were, they could have a romantic relationship, or they could also not go back to being friends, but now the bitterness of their ending is washed away. Whatever it was they have/had can be defined with a clean slate.

Thank you! I thought since it was a special it would have a clear cut ending. I was thrown off by the open ending. I stopped watching the series after the second movie with Jo Bo Ah. Seemed like all of them were going to be like that.

      1
      1

No problem – I love this special and have watched it a few times so I’ve had a lot of time to think about it. I liked the ambiguous ending here because it felt so real but I can see how it would frustrate people.

It finally happened. Five Children is gone from Viki and is exclusively on Kocowa. Bye bye superior subs. 😢😒

I just remembered why I don’t frequent Dramabeans as much anymore even though I have the Pandemic Blues. I hate all of these damn pop-ups! Like is there no way to turn off the video player?

5
2

I just click the right top of the player and it disappears until I reopen DB. I think you also gave less pop ups if you’re a subscriber. I always had an adblocker installed which also got ride of all my pop ups.

    1
    1

I have several ad blockers and I contributed however, nothing stops the video player from popping up every time I go to a new page nor the BTS face mask pop-up. Ugh
