Beanie level: Entertainer-in-training

Thanks to @yyishere I’m listening to TKEM’s OST again. I really liked this one, and would have loved to see it used in an achingly bittersweet ending (instead of that lame ending we got).

😂 I haven’t listened to a note of the OST. I’m erasing everything except Woo Do Hwan’s portions from my memory. Oh, and LT of course.

It has the best last episode ever! We get bromance (finally!). We get a female lead who doesn’t change so that she can be loved and who continues on to pursue her dream of education (over a long period of time due to her realistic need to earn money to pay for that education). We get a tsundere male lead who is a marshmallow inside who doesn’t change (because in real life they usually don’t). We get a relationship that is realistic and rocky in the end because our couple doesn’t change. We get a growth arc for our second male lead who finally breaks free from his controlling horrible dad and chooses to pursue his dream on his own without his family’s money.

Along the way we get almost every trope possible, outrageously wacky hijinks that often make no sense and male parents to hate with a passion. I stand by my LOVE of this PERFECTLY wacky drama. 🤣🤣🤣 @thatstp and I share a passion for this wonderful drama. And the music! And they guyliner!

@sicarius It turns out I’ve watched just enough Cdramas to make a list! From all-time best drama to all-time worst:

1. Nirvana in Fire
2. Arsenal Military Academy
3. Lovely Us
4. Princess Weiyoung
5. Nirvana in Fire 2
6. When A Snail Falls In Love
7. Scarlet Heart
8. Prince of Lan Ling
9. Sound of the Desert
10. Scarlet Heart 2 ☠️

Dropped halfway so not officially eligible for the list: Meteor Garden, Novoland Eagle Flag, General and I.

I have only seen two shows from this list, Toki 😆😆😆😆😆 If you are into detective stuff, try the period detective drama, Ancient Detective. I haven’t seen it myself (I have a costume drama allergy 😖😖😖), but many beanies loved that show. And from your list, you’re into period dramas, so I thought I’d mention it.

    2
    3

I don’t know if I can rate my cdramas. I love them equally 😅 I check my MDL and I’ve pretty much gave the same rating to all shows I loved! 🙈🙈🙈🙈

I have a costume drama allergy too! and practically every other cdrama I see being aired is a costume drama :/ would love to see a list of non-c-drama-cdramas!!

      1
      1

I personally think I’m the least person who should be ranking dramas. 😅 It will be very subjective. When I fall in love with the characters, I tend to overlook the dramas’ imperfection. I mean I would call out on it, but that doesn’t ruin the fun for me. C-Dramas have been hitting the notes for me when it comes to relationships and bond the characters have with each other over time. Also most of the time they’re not complicated and dark, so they tend to fit the bill of “comfort drama” for me.

        1
        1

I understand you! I like a good story, tbh, but there are times when I want to fall back on a regular no-brainer happy simple family drama, and I find it’s usually the Cdramas that check these boxes. Sometimes they make me cringe, but I’ve found one or two that I really liked.

I loved the found family in Mr Fighting, for example, plus it had some clever humour. And I thought My Huckleberry Friends was one of the best school dramas I have seen across languages.

But I drop dramas quickly, which is why I was wondering about such a list 🙂

          1
          2

Oh my! I haven’t seen My Huckleberry Friends yet and it’s got Steven in it. He’s impressing me again in Go Ahead. + school dramas are just my thing. I should find time to check it out. Thanks for the reminder!!!

Nice. I think you will enjoy it. MHF is easily one of my all-time favs. It’s also arguably the strongest of the three shows in that series (I haven’t watched the third one, though). Steven Zhang is only a small part of the reason why it’s great. I thought it had a super truly ensemble cast, everyone had a satisfactory growth arc, down to the fourth and fifth leads, it was really a school/class drama, and not just a show about one FL and one ML. Anyway, glad to have given you the reminder 🙂

Toki and I loved AMA! 😆😆😆😆 It’s not heavy on the romance front and we loved the camaraderie that formed over time. We loved the boys and the girls in this show. Such endearing characters. 🥰 I loved how this show wrote about women. It showed how much it respected them especially when we all know that wasn’t the case at all during its time.

It was also interesting to see the republican era of China. Not highly accurate representation especially with the props they used, but it gives you an insight of that time in China.

      2
      1

You know if AMA is #2 on this list, that does not inspire in me confidence for everything below it… *snorts* *I’m sorry* *I know you’ve only seen 10* *I know lots of people liked it* *I just* *I hand rewrote 3/4s of it* *that’s… all*

Anyway I’ve heard NIF is amazing and it’s on my to watch list for a later date.

LOVELY US (2020)

A cute little drama with a big heart. I loved the friendships, the families, and the innocent romance. It was similar in vibe and themes to REPLY 1988, centered around a group of childhood friends in their last year of high school in 2007-2008. I laughed a lot at their antics, like doing whatever it takes to attend the Beijing Olympics, or trying to get an mp4 to watch COFFEE PRINCE. Each episode had a lesson, and it twice made me cry. I only regret watching it all in one week because now I have no more episodes.

The OST was also pretty catchy, especially the opening song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Io8nNT30WA

Thank you @13infamyss for the recommendation! I don’t usually watch modern cdramas because I think they’re too mushy, but this one had just the right amount of romance. Let me know if you have any other recommendations!

    2
    2

Awiiiiie!!!!! I`m glad you enjoyed the ride, Toki 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 There would be times I thought an episode was a filler, but then halfway through the episode, I’d see it try to come full circle and then the leads’ narrations would finish the episode off with the lesson it wanted to show the audience!

For example, what you’ve said about the Beijing Olympics – the take away message Cheng Zi shared with us was that – it was a time when they were young and bold, thinking they could do the impossible. They always did things together as a group.

Each episode was her history. The neighbourhood’s history. Something they’ll end up looking back on when they grow up😭😭😭

I hope you enjoyed ep 14 with Cheng Zi’s mom’s story! I teared up when they reconciled after their cold war. Dad’s words to her at the restaurant was oooooff! 😭😭

RE: right amount of romance – I love the progress of OTP. I love that it didn’t take them time too to confess once they figured out their feelings for each other. And I love that they’re always there for each other. The bike scene on Ep 3, the mosquito coil and umbrella scene on Ep 15 to name a few. I love Tan Song’s narrations when he decided to confess to her.

      And LOL!

Auuugh so much feels! Too many memorable scenes to mention!😭

I love love love the OST yes. That opening song and the English lyrics one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzjyCtJXgio. So so good!

LOL those two silly boys kneeling before Jin Xiao…

I have to say Chen Zui broke my little heart in total REPLY 1988 style, for being too shy even though everyone shipped him with Jin Xiao. I wonder if that was too much pressure for him? He was the sensitive one who could advise everyone else, but he missed the “perfect timing”. 💔Or did he? I’d like to think that Jin Xiao saying “tell me about the girl you like when you’re ready” kind of meant she left it up to him… however her crush on heartthrob Ou Yang seemed serious. In contrast, the Dog and Orange acted on their feelings immediately… so so cute. 🥰

By the way, Ou Yang was quite mysteriuos… things seemed to be going great with his girlfriend, and then they broke up?

I did cry at that scene with Mom. Cheng Zi’s dad is the best. 😊

        1
        1

Awwww, I know Toki! I was sad when Zui narrated that some get their feelings reciprocated, some don’t. He needed a little more push to gain confidence to speak up. I’m glad the story did bring up how he was too nice for the world!

I legit screamed with how ep 4 ended with Ouyang coming to the rescue and Xiao Xiao looking at him in a daze. I was like Oh no! 😱 my 2nd OTP is in danger!!! 😅 Then Cheng Zi narrated how Ouyang was the crush of the town and Xiao Xiao’s crush on him was the longest! 😭😭

Honestly I don’t think Zui and Xiao Xiao are ready to take that next step. She was too busy studying and yeah pretty dense. She’s got a low EQ indeed. But they do know each other too well (pretty impressive results there at the couple contest) and that’s usually the start of it! She’s aware of him too. Of what he likes and what he doesn’t like. So maybe it’s not that one sided as he assumes!

Ouyang-ge was a pretty interesting character. While I think he and his girlfriend looked cute too, I guess they just didn’t work out. And it’s interesting too that he’s not academically smart either. I laughed so hard that Zui and Xiao Xiao ended up holding the study session 🤣🤣🤣

Coming high from Lovely Us, I am glad that this ongoing drama that started just this week is giving the same feels. I am currently watching Go Ahead. Another coming of age/romance/family drama.

At the centre of this family is the dad who is everyone’s equilibrium providing his sons all the love in the world that they didn’t get to experience before meeting him. I love the three babies who are growing under his wing.

There are only 8 episodes out so far, and I`m worried I am loving it too much 😖😖 (I’m crying over the heartwarming scenes too much! My favourite so far is Episode 5. Such a compelling episode. I love Daddy Li more each episode😭). I hope it stays good.

I think C-Drama is upping their games when it comes to family dynamics storytelling.

      1
      1

Thank you! I’ll wait a week or so then before trying this one.

I’m not really familiar with modern cdramas, but I like the portrayal of family I’ve seen so far. It’s nice to see families solve everyday issues without much drama, not shouting and refusing to speak like we see so often in kdramas (which only leads to misunderstanding and angst).

        1
        1

I personally prefer C-Drama family dynamics better. Because yes as you have said, the characters do not yell as often as K-characters do. And the families aren’t as messed up and complicated like K-dramas do. And one of the great things I like about C-Dramas are the friendships that are formed. Whether they’re childhood bestfriends or newly found friends, they’re tight knit.

I wish I could recommend this other drama I’m watching, Cross Fire. Romance isn’t the focus, but squads are! It’s a new genre to me, e-sports, and I’ve warmed up to the concept over time. Even if e-sports is not a genre I understand well, but the drama has the common theme of perseverance, friendship and character growth. However, Cross Fire doesn’t have decent English subs, so I can’t really recommend it 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I’m only watching this with just a couple of beanies who can understand Vietnamese and Indonesian. If I have question with my awful subs, I have to ask them 😭😭😭 It’s really too bad that Cross Fire isn’t officially licensed in English. It would have been the next new crack. It’s just so good. I’m on ep 21 now out of 36. 😭

          1
          3

Chinese dramas like to pass out what’s deserved for their characters a lot of times, so if she’s THIS evil and seems like she’s spoiling everything that’s happening to the FL, just look forward to the day that she gets her retribution?? 😅😅

            1
            0

Oh I am! She’s actually quite smart, not aiming for the FL directly but manipulating those around her… she already fell off Cliff of Non-Doom once and survived, so her “retribution” needs to be pretty effective LOL

I’m on a roll now. This is my list of Top 10 OSTs, that I would play again and again from beginning to end (including instrumentals). What’s interesting is that these choices have nothing to do with my ranking of the dramas themselves. There are some favourites, as well as meh dramas, and even endolistrated dramas. This very scientific research is based on my YouTube history, so it’s much more reliable than my other lists. I’m only going back to 2014 for reasons

10% Hospital Playlist
10% Crash Landing On You
10% I’ll Find You On A Beautiful Day
10% Just Between Lovers
10% Are You Human Too?

The Hospital Playlist OST had a big nostalgia factor for me because of the 90s style tunes. Have you seen the Reply series, by the same PD? My favorite is Reply 1988, but Reply 1997 had some fun songs.

      1

R88 has a good soundtrack, and there’s an overlap with HosPlay too to some extent. I can’t remember the R97 OST too well, maybe also because I didn’t like the show as much. Will check it out again!

Of course, I expected nothing less. 😀 Have you seen Chicago Typewriter? It’s the only reincarnation kdrama that I like, and the past timeline is set in 1930s Korea. The OST is superb, as well as Yoo Ah-in’s wig.

I’ve heard great many things about the 1st half, but also that it ended up being close to disappointing?
I was intrigued so I added it to my list, but I’m kinda cautious.
I love the aesthetics of the show from what I’ve already seen, and I love the ost Satellite😁.
        P.s- YAI had a wig there!?😱

        1

Actually, in my case I enjoyed the second half more, because it started out kind of slow. The ending wasn’t disappointing in my view.
I hope you enjoy The Wig! Every beanie who’s watched CT ends up drooling over YAI’s 30s look.

The soundtrack in When the weather is fine was amazing. The music was another character in the drama. I loved, loved, loved it!

    1
    1

Yes! I was disappointed that the drama didn’t flesh out Hae-won’s cello story, but I was happy to hear so much cello in the soundtrack. The acoustic guitar also gave it an intimate and cozy feel, like Eun-seob’s bookstore. Some tracks remind me of Hwi (cheeky and bouncy) and Jang-woo (adorable and cheerful). The music helped immerse ourselves in the seasons and life of the village.

25% for agreeing wholeheartedly about Doctors and RMPW, DOTS was okay-ish for me. I would include 5% for METS too, especially for the last 4-6 eps but it was my first ever drama and I have such a soft spot for it lol

Of these, I have only seen Playful Kiss all the way to the end. I actually like it (it was my intro to kdrama) 😄 but I can see why that would not be the case for everyone 😅

    1
    1

@juniebug and @beffels I was just pondering today on the fact that we tend to be attached of our first dramas even if now we don’t think they’re that great. For me it’s YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL. I came to PK and DOTS much later so I was more critical by then 😬

Interesting! May I ask why Extraordinary You is on the list? I didn’t end up finishing it but I liked the beginning.

    1
    1

I really reallyliked Extraordinary You up to Episode 9, when the drama gave up explaining why things happen and left it all to the whim of the Writer. Dan-oh lost her spunk and her fight to be anything but an extra became pointless…. that’s my interpretation. Others saw some deep philosophical implications. I just saw a story that failed to live up to its promise.

      4
      0

Extraordinary You is the only one of these that I’ve seen. It definitely had its moments, but I agree the second half was disappointing. It ultimately became a forgettable drama for me.

    2
    1

(Another one I was so glad I dropped. Since it drove me insane from like episode 5 onwards lol)

      2
      2

The repetitive dialogue is what truly drove me nuts. They spend the second half of the drama just standing around reiterating the situation they are in.
As for the writing/plot, it got to the point where I just couldn’t be bothered to try to make sense of it.

        2
        1

You dropped out just in time. If you look at it like a metaphor of the writing process, and how characters hang from strings like puppets, it might be an interesting watch… but once the drama threw in amnesia it became a mess.

        0
        1

A metaphor for the writing process? Oh yeah sure… except their satire was a gimmick and a scam so anything they were trying to say about the writing process is now meaningless.
And if the only thing left is the implication that characters and plot and therefore story telling DOESN’T MATTER and that writing fundamentals are MEANINGLESS because an author can do whatever they want… and if the application to real life is that we’re all just puppets on a string in a closed system, and the creator doesn’t exist, and consciousness is inexplicable and possibly not even real… why the hell would I want to watch a show about that.

… Dang it Toki, you made me mad at it again.

I sat down several times to try and write an essay on the darned thing and I just about drove myself bonkers, that’s how stupid it was. It was literally going to cause me more grief just trying to critique it and explain its flaws, let alone finish it, so I just gave up. It goes on my hit list of scam shows instead.

So yeah it’s a metaphor for the writing process… of what not to do.

          3
          1

Oops, sorry to have made you mad again. I mean, the world missed out on a magnificent sh*tpost had you finished the drama…. but more likely it would have been a drawing of a dead Joker Queen who had amnesia due to the unbelievable stress of going bonkers and refused to be recycled in a future story.

Oooh, I’d like to see your list of “scam shows”.

EY almost made it onto my list. It was one of the 9 that could’ve. hahaha
I’ve only seen 35% of this, and didn’t like any of them lol.

Those eligibility criteria are harsh. As a result, we have no matches :/

35% as I dropped and want to erase from my memory Rich Man, TKEM and Extraordinary you.
I did watch Descendants of the Sun, I didn’t hate it, but it can easily be that 5%.
    I haven’t watched the rest.

Existential Beanie Moment While Watching The World Go Up In Flames

How do you use the “My Shows” tab Beanies?

Early on I discarded the idea of using it as a diary of what I have watched because it doesn’t list dramas in chronological order. Now it’s kind of a hobby for me to check the “My Shows” tab and update it every so often (very often, like every week *cough*). My only rule is to keep it limited to 2 pages (it used to be 1 page, but I failed at that…)
Initially it was used only for dramas that made me cry (yes, my criteria was sad). Then I thought I should add dramas with rewatch value… which meant that some dramas that made me cry dropped out. After a time on DB, I became a snob, so the list was updated to reflect “best quality dramas”. Right now, it’s a mix of all these. For example, Mr. Sunshine was demoted today because while I think it’s a masterpiece for a film student, it didn’t quite tug at my heartstrings.
To conclude, I think I’ve accepted that my list will keep changing, and that my criteria change too. 😅

I just use it to keep track of what shows i watched in completion (if i remember to add it). But because you have to ‘favorite’ a show to add it to My Shows I sometimes hesitate to do it 😅

    5
    1

    I’m similar.
Mine is also a mix. I didn’t need it to be every drama I’ve watched ever, since I keep an ongoing master word doc for that instead.
I don’t remember ever thinking about it at first beyond adding my favourites.
Now it is roughly my top 20-30, with a few honourable mentions. I say very roughly since I am still trying to figure out a rating system that allows for rewatch value, objective technical quality (and how to even go about calculating that), subjective value (how much I enjoyed it personally), and recommended value. Since these are all different it’s been a bit of an ongoing mission with no end in sight. And because of this “My Shows” include the odd thing that doesn’t fit any parameter- it could be there because I love it despite technical quality, or because I think it’s underrated. And there’s a good chance the tab could be missing a few dramas entirely.
I think it does show case a good range of my tastes though, sort an overview I guess of what I like.

It’s funny you should bring this up today though since I spent this morning trying to figure out how to refine my “Top 20-30” into something more coherent… I haven’t really got anywhere.
As it is the “#10 spot” on my Top 10 could be switched out with about 5 other dramas just as easily. *#10=n, when n has a value other than 1* *or something*

    2

I am relieved to hear I’m not the only one who spends precious time pondering the psychology of decision-making. 😂

I think “showing a good range of my tastes” would be an effective way of approaching it actually… Like you say, some of them don’t fit any parameter. YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL isn’t great or rewatchable, but it was one of my first dramas so I’m attached to it, and it has influenced my tastes. I still like absurd comedy.

It would be great if the tab arranged dramas chronologically, so that we can see a history of our ever-changing tastes. I do have a separate spreadsheet for that, because behind every drama choice there is a story (for example: “That sageuk I just finished was exhausting… I need a rom-com now”, or: “that was a horrible ending… I need to see that actor in a better drama”)

      1
      1

        Definitely not!!!! haha

Mmmm Hwayugi is my odd one out like that. Objectively, a hot mess, but I love it anyway hahaha.
YB however IS one of the most successful dramas for getting people into kdrama. I have used it multiple times. It works like a charm, and retains its crack factor so I don’t blame you.

Chronologically would be interesting- although I know I haven’t watched dramas chronologically since forever haha.
My Drama Master List doc sounds similar to your spreadsheet haha. Dramas in order of watched, with the date started and finished, mini reviews, often in-watch notes, and much more.

I also keep a long, slightly insane master drama doc in addition to my MDL lists & shows page. One can never have too many drama lists imo.

      1

I add all those shows that I have genuinely enjoyed in the my shows category. There are some shows that I watch because I like one or two things about it like dinner mate, but I didn’t “favourite” it because while I enjoyed the OTP, they weren’t good enough to qualify for “my shows” list heh. So basically my current “my shows” list is shows on the higher and middle spectrum of GOOD. I do like the idea of limiting them to 1 or 2 pages so I might just do that and then the list will consist of shows on the higher spectrum of GOOD only.

    2
    1

I like the idea of a spectrum of good… that’s kind of what I do, only I make my life difficult by trying to narrow it down to 2 pages.

      1
      0

I only use if for shows I really liked, but I often forget to add to it plus I want to keep it on the short side.

    1
    1

How could you forget? I anxiously wait until they’re over to see if they qualify for My Shows…. I have prematurely favorited dramas in the past only to have to remove them, so now I wait until they’re over. It happens so rarely that I feel very happy when I can add a new one.😂

      2
      1

Unless a drama is a real standout now, it doesn’t even cross my mind to add it to My Shows. I should probably weed a few out, now that I think about it. @leetennant should rest assured that Mary Stayed Out All Night will remain in perpetuity.

        2
        1

My current method is to add those which I have ranked 8.5 or higher on MDL. I sometimes feel bad for my 8.0 shows and wonder if I should add some of them too. If I’m really into a currently airing show, I’ll add it then decide if it deserves to stay once it’s finished airing.

    2
    1

“I feel bad for my 8.0 shows”.
Finally, a beanie after my own heart. 😀

      2

They have the most unfortunate position of not quite making it to the ultimate favs but are also too good to deserve just being ignored like that.

Plus best action, best bromance, and possibly best villain (Ahn Nae-sang). I should just start my own awards. 😂

    1

If it was kept strictly as a political drama with the romance elements, I would’ve loved, loved, loved it 😍😍 To this day, I honestly do not find purpose in Seolhyun’s character, and the love line did nothing— not emotionally, not for the plot

    3
    2

Totally agree. She had so much potential as the leader of Ihwaru, intelligence-gatherer, intermediary between the palace and the outside world… but in the end she was pointless.

To be fair, I think she did pretty well considering that the story was overshadowed by the powerful figures of Bang-won and Yi Seong-gye. They just didn’t need her intel, since they pulled all the strings themselves. I think the writing failed her.

      4
      1

The writing definitely failed her ☹️

If they had made her character be more important and more prominent as the upcoming Leader of Ihwaru, then I think I would’ve been fine…. The weak writing of her character development made the pointless love line even more of an eyesore (but it just HAD TO happen, because what is a Kdrama without a love line, right?? 🙄🙄), and all the other characters definitely outshined her. When it’s veteran actors like Jang Hyuk and Jang Young Nam paired with a young generation of actors like Woo Do Hwan and Yang Se Jong who act the pants off of every one of their roles, Seolhyun didn’t stand a chance 🤷🏻‍♀️

        1
        0

The only love lines were the triangle – Stabby OTP™ and Bangwon.

    1

It’s a little bit of a head scratcher though. You’ll find yourself needing to look some things up, or reading recaps and their comments because they leave out some historical points (okay, many points) and do a few skips ahead in time that were confusing.

      1
      1

Oh no… thanks for the heads up!

        0
        1

I didn’t meant to discourage you. If you like the actors you’ll probably love it. If you’re looking for a traditional sageuk, you might be a little frustrated with the lack of background information (but the recaps and comment threads are full of information and historical resources if that’s your thing).

How is it?? I’ve heard that it’s been getting not so great reviews because viewers think that the story is too similar to “Princess Weiyoung”

    2

I also noticed the similarities with Princess Weiyoung, which is not necessarily a bad thing for me because I loved PW. The OTP is fortunately different in this one – she’s actually out to kill him for starters. The female lead also knows martial arts, so there’s a lot more action in Song of Glory.

We all need to be in the ABBA hole in 2020. I fully support this post.

We should play it at the Island of Neutrality’s reunion party. 😄

(Which LOL. Who would imagine we’d be living in our own little islands in 2020?)

      1

Ha. The Island of Neutrality was meant to be a safe shared space where we watch ships battle in the distance. Now we just need a bit more space between our palm trees.

But there will definitely be an ABBA dance party hour at the reunion. Costumes encouraged.

My Mid-year Bean Count!
Despite my short list, it’s actually been a good year so far by Toki standards:
1) Crash Landing On You: funny and romantic. What you’d expect from a classic kdrama.
2) I’ll Find You On A Beautiful Day: Long title, wonderful OST and setting, rather weak ending.
3) My Holo Love: Comfort food for an easy binge-watch.
4) The King: Eternal Monarch: Hold my PPL coffee and jam and bread. Oh my brain.
5) Hospital Playlist: I’m still playing the OST every day as I work… I believe!!

I’ve dropped several dramas and watched a few older ones, so I’m the farthest from a slump I could possibly be. Hurrah!

Considering: My Unfamiliar Family, Into the Ring.

Like you I loved HOSPITAL PLAYLIST. So one more time.
I just became aware of Bella and Lucas’ four hands piano videos on YouTube while hunkered down in quarantine. Have you seen/heard them perform? Quite enjoyable.

I may yet manage to learn Korean by singing along to the OST of HOSPITAL PLAYLIST. Usually I just hum along or sing lalalalala to drama soundtracks, but this time I can actually remember some of the lyrics! The English bits help.

Has there been another just silly low key romcom like My Holo Love this year? I’ve been so out of the drama scene lately… but I think I’d like to try one like that to dip my feet back in…

    1
    1

I actually can’t think of other “silly low key romcoms” this year! Maybe I’m not the best person to ask because I’ve watched too few dramas. I did watch SHOPPING KING LOUIE recently and found it a cute, low-stress and laugh-inducing watch, if you feel like it.

Or maybe you could try web dramas that don’t require much commitment. Gogh’s Starry Night is pretty addictive.
