Beanie level: Chaebol’s poor doppelganger

OMG! I cannot watch the FL in Cafe Minamdang!

A screaming banshee who is unprofessional, rude, and incompetent.

As much as I love the other characters the FL is making the show unwatchable!

Does it help if I say I completely understand this as I know who the actress is? She gave me some impression on the first and the only ep I watched of My Sassy Girl (tv drama).

She is kind of pretty much that way in all the shows I’ve watched her in. But I’m watching Cafe Minamdang for everyone else and just try to ignore her.

How to ignore a lead character in a drama? Tips please. I have dropped many dramas because of lead’s annoying characterisation.

Some tips would help. I wasn’t able to finish Monday’s episode after she fake arrested the ML and hit him so he could be hypnotized against his will. Assault and coercion are not cute and definitely not justifiable.
The stupid prosecutor went along with it. Spineless git!

I hope NHJ sues the lot of them to kingdom come! 😡

To be honest, I wrote that before I watched this week’s episodes. And she is getting harder to stomach. I’m with you on the fake arresting and hitting him before hypnosis. The problem is that everyone else on the squad is just so cute.
But I’m still suspicious of the prosecutor.

Watching Season 1 of FoS. In episode 4, LCJ meets up with Chief Kim to do shady talks and I noticed that it’s at the same bar as Choi Bit and WTH’s meetup.

YeoJin is a badass! The way she stood up to the incomplete HQ bullies was awesome. Her “… you were right to keep in in check…I don’t need connections..”👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

And Yeojin couldn’t hold back her tears when Yongsan team called her. This scene really got me 😭😭😭 there are still good police officers who cared for her and supported her decision.

I almost cried. It’s so nice the way they care for her 😭😭😭😭
      We love you, Yeo Jin!
Good job standing up to those jerks and anyone who tries to make you feel less-than for doing the right thing!
      Fightin!

To the powers to be, I promise to wait patiently for another three years and be very good, please consider one more season. Just one more. 🙏🏽🤞🏽
YeoJin-ShiMok 2023! Hwaiting!

The writer is going up a mirror to our society. Chief Kang said “…organizations are made of people…” and the show is telling us how each decision made by people makes a difference.

It also rather powerfully shifted the focus out from the police/prosecution procedural angle to shine a light on the corporations. Corruption isn’t something that bubbles up internally, it’s something that comes in from the outside. Rust needs oxygen.

I’m rewatching season 1 now and it resonates deeper and I’m catching some of the nuances more. Excellent work by the writer. Made me reflect on all the decisions and choices I make.

Yes, I believe the corporate angle will be a theme of S3. How the writer created that scene between Kang and Lee YJ is beyond me – so, so good.

I was so touched by this.
I work in a big corporation myself and sometimes I feel lost in the whole organization, as if every body forgot that corporations, companies are made of people. So many forget about that.
Chief Kang, you’re the best ever.

Definitely a rewatch, all the way from season 1.

It’s over! It ended on a sad but hopeful note. Our “heroes” live to fight another day. This season was hard on YeoJin but ShiMok was there for her. Her old team was there for her.

Last week of Forest of Secrets! I’m already sad that I won’t be able to spend two hours a week with our favorite cop and prosecutor. 😭

    😭😭😭
The comeuppance is more satisfying this time because an antagonist is not remorseful at all.

But yeah, I’ll miss our favorite duo.

The writer is amazing at showing that in most cases there aren’t clear heroes and villains, just ordinary people sometimes making the wrong decisions. Every character has depth. 👏🏽👏🏽

CB and WTH were like evil chaebol parents keeping our couple apart using paperwork! 🤣🤣
ShiMok got his paper graded too! YeoJin had to create graphs and gather statistics. My nerd heart was so happy!

The drama gods have me a birthday gift! ShiMok and YeoJin drinking, eating, and working together. They are SOOO good together. I also got a ShiMok smile! 💃🏽😁😁😁

The best part of FoS is ShiMok and YeoJin together, but in season 2 we are in episode 12 and they are mostly apart. It’s starting to annoy me. 🙁

No bland mukbangs and I have not seen him smile yet

the theme is women coming to power..

you have choi.. who has bent every brick to be where she is
you have YJ.. being more of a boss as time goes
you have the new secy.. being a supportive junior and yet staying on the right side of the things

Going to call it, Kim SaHyun is a pretty boy prosecutor! 😆

Scenes with ShiMok and YeoJin sharing information and working together are still my favorite scenes. I want them working together and not against each other or in isolation.

DongJae better be alive. He’s survived so long so he better survive now. I have very little hope since the attack was vicious. 😭😭😭

what is going on with Chief Choi and Woo TaeHa? Is it more than work? How is Hanjo in the mix? Chief Choi and Woo TaeHa were scared at various points. This shift is confusing me.

1
10

It has to do with that ex-prosecutor that died because of a heart attack who supposedly cannot drink alcohol. He was also part of the unofficial lawyers of Hanjo that bragged around. Choi Bit was handling that case and looks like Woo is part of it. Which basically ties them both, they know each other’s weaknesses that could destroy their career.

    That’s what I think xD

YeoJin barging into Youngsan station and taking over without giving her old Captain a heads up also feels out of character.

Why is YeoJin still dealing with Chief Choi? I get YeoJin’s bit of a hero-worship for Chief Choi but her speech to the driver-kicking police guy about calling her using the right title felt off.

I think it was the disrespect by him that set her off I m not sure it was defense of her personally, and that guy set in motion the events that lead to that officers death.
Although I don’t know why she called her with a heads up about that judge turned lawyer, she knows that Choi bit- na is shady as hell

In Episodes 7 & 8 of FoS2, not sure if it’s me or the drama but the tone has shifted. I get that it’s moving into a faster pace but something is off. Also, I’m confused. 🙃
