Currently watching dorama, ‘Erased’. It’s dark and sometimes I don’t feel comfortable watching it. Maybe at some point I will drop it, but for now I’m still curious.

It’s not that dark. Or maybe I’ve a very high tolerance for this genre *shudders* but it’s a good enough, if not brilliant story. Plus the child actors are really good. And the cinematography is gorgeous!

Actually I have complain for the child actor. He tend to over exaggerated and didn’t know how to act subtle. If you compare him with the child actor in Kdrama Mother or let’s say Nam Da reum, he still has a lot to learn.
The cinematography is beautiful, the set look realistic and the actors don’t have flawless skin like in K-Dramas. That’s the first thing I notice.

It’s just my opinion but I think Japanese ppl underact. ..They don’t express their emotions properly. But like I said, my opinion. And I heard this is his first drama. .so maybe he’s a little green? But I liked his acting.

I see, his acting is still green. Hope he’ll get better in the next episode.
It’s my second dorama. The first one was We Married as a Job, I agree with you, Japanese act tend to underact. Or maybe being reserve is just how they carry themselves.
For now I still think kdrama is more superior than dorama.but I like dorama that is is more realistic, there is no sugar-coating. iMO, dorama has better writer.

I liked We married as a job too! Though I probably watched it because some commenters said that it was similar to BTIOFL…but I didn’t find any except for the fact that they got married for convenience which is similar. I loved the theme song at the end of every episode!

I was surprised that I like We Married as a Job more than BTLIOF. That’s why I can’t decide which one I should watch first the dorama or kdrama ‘Mother’

@manohira I haven’t watched either of them. I think this show is too heavy for my taste. There. .I have my limitations. But I think both are equally good. Why don’t you give both of them a try ?

Time constraints, I still have other things that I need/want to do. Maybe I will go with the dorama version. Kdrama usually has several side stories, ain’t nobody got time for that.

That bad? I was excited for that drama but I couldn’t bring my self to watch it yet. Maybe later….

Many people like it, so it must be not bad. It just I don’t like it.
I’m not a fan of Noona romance to begin with. I prefer the dynamic of same age relationship. Second, I feel this drama is made to please its noonas audience, which is of course. But, I don’t need a drama to tell me that I can get a chance with a nice younger guy who look like Capt Yoo.
I’d rather watch something totally ridiculous like oh Jak Doo 😂

Haha Well to each his own 😉
I like noona romance but 16 episodes of fluff and romance is a bit too much for me, I might pick it up later when it finishes. For Captain Yoo, and it’s been a while since I last saw Son Ye-jin on tv.

            Exactly! (In Eric Cho’s voice)
16 episodes of JHI being gentleman to his Noona girlfriend, it’s Noona fan service.

You can always try the anime if you have a problem with the live action.

I just found out, there’s an anime version. I’m gonna check it.

The anime was so well received/beloved that the live action was pretty much guaranteed. Personally, I prefer animes to doramas. The suspension of disbelief doesn’t work so well for me with doramas.
