After episode 4 of DYLB I was thinking of the couples and multiple triangles and the music that the show could use in depicting these. The first is Joon-Young and Jung-Kyung. Both talented, but due to outside pressures, are thrown together and drawn to each other’s dysthymia. Chopin’s Nocturne in C#minor (and the natural uneasiness of the key) fits this perfectly. This is an arrangement for piano and violin, and then how it was originally written, for piano only. I almost hate to give this song to them, because I love playing it so much. I’ll be focussing on the Romantic period of Classical music and try to showcase some very talented Korean musicians in the process.
And the solo piano. I like how in the 4th episode Joon-young cuts off all romantic ties to Jung-kyung like it is played here, and is now on his own, a weight is off him. https://youtu.be/A8zO2KX_VVU
