I’ve been waiting Item since it was first announced, now after two episodes I’m closely to drop it. I can’t really explain with the show, it’s confusing and all over the place. Maybe I’m just…
I have the same feeling about it too. The editing is choppy and all over the place, which I think is a major problem. I get the tragic backstory of Kang Gon and his niece, but not quite understanding what the tragedy in the profiler’s past is (maybe the subtitles weren’t clear??). The clashes between Chairman Jo and Kang Gon are kinda…. not as intense as I wanted them to be? And all the frills around Chairman Jo seemed contrived and a little cliche (those paintings! the simmering water around his piano! that pink polaroid camera cracks me up instead of creeping me out). I’m close to dropping it but gonna hang around for JJH and his cute niece. 🙂
I’m just so confused. So far it’s messy and all over the place and they explain nothing about anything. I’m gonna stay with it for now since it’s only been 2 episodes.
I want to stay for JJH too, but Bae Doona, he ain’t. To me he doesn’t have that much charm to make sit through a mediocre drama, but let’s see. I’m a sci-fi fan and would love to see more of this genre in kdrama.
I totally agree with choppy editing, it makes this drama look cheap.
The editing in this drama is the strangest mash-up of cheap fake-rain-during-intense-sunlight and dark-and-beautiful sequences of the crime scenes. Pick a tone, or like a color palette and stick with it, Show.

…not in the mood for a crime/sci-fi show.
*can’t really explain what’s wrong with the show
