The ghosts come out to fight in Bring It On, Ghost

Posters are out for tvN’s new horror comedy Bring It On, Ghost, of course with creepy ghosts and their creepy ghost hands clawing at our main characters. They’re not nearly as spooky as the teasers’ ghosts though, and one of the new teasers below has an homage to The Ring, which freaks me out. And then it makes me laugh, the way Taecyeon (Assembly) handily gets rid of the TV ghosts without even having to fight them.

Taec stars as a college student who can see ghosts and fights them as an exorcist-for-hire to make money. Kim So-hyun (Page Turner) is a schoolgirl ghost and an odd case of a ghost that fights other ghosts and saves people. After a violent meeting, she’ll take up residence in Taec’s house and tag along on his ghost-exorcising jobs. And it looks like she has a bit of fun while living with him too.

Kwon Yul (One More Happy Ending) is a handsome and mysterious professor of veterinary sciences, and funny ajusshi Kim Sang-ho (Lucky Romance) plays a monk and an exorcist who helps Taecyeon out. Kang Ki-young (Come Back, Ajusshi) and Lee David (Mirror of the Witch) play Taecyeon’s geeky ghostbusting club friends.

The longer teaser at last shows us glimpses of the show itself, and it looks like a fun, lighthearted comedy about ghost fighters and their quirky world of offbeat characters. It seems fitting from the PD of the Let’s Eat franchise, and that probably means I’m going to like the feel and the sense of humor, and the little community of endearing oddballs, dead or alive.

Bring It On, Ghost premieres July 11.

OMG, these teasers have me so hyped! It looks like so much fun!

And there's a surprising lack of romance in everything we've seen so far. Perhaps there isn't much, if any, romance at all? With these actors and their ages that would be ideal. But maybe I'm just getting my hopes up... I actually think this would be more fun without a romantic angle.

Yeah, I'm getting more confident that the romance will be a non-factor. At least I'm hoping...

I hope they won't do anything that'll skeeve me out, cause otherwise the show looks like it'll be a hoot! :D

yeah if its just partners in crime then count me in cuz it looks fun. whereas romance would prob make me cringe so hard. plus she's a ghost so, unless he's going to end up involved with a dead girl...lol no where to go from there. maybe they purposely cast young to discourage ppl from shipping? IDK

There is one newer teaser released today and It was even funnier. I'm the type who cant watch ghost things but so far Lets fight ghost has done well in its comedy aspect that I can even watch those creepy ghosts at night. Hyun Ji seems like she is the one who has a crush with Bong Pal, and it starts making me feel sad bcs she is a ghost and in the end she will be gone right??? Any magical way to make her alive again?
Bong Pal (aka Taecyeon), well, all the scenes seemed funny with him and his Ok Bingu face. Director-nim, let's So Hyun carry the acting part, Taecyeon only needs to show off his fool image, then this drama will do well kk

This was completely off my radar because of *coughs* Taecyeon. But these teasers are hilarious! And I think Taecyeon might actually be decent in comedies.

I know right? This show had so many criticism and many people were disgusted at it. But it looks damn good! Those teasers are great! And no romance so far, they might be only friends/comrads the entire drama. And Taecyeon looks good in comedy (from what I saw).

This and Mirror of The Witch make me so bitter because they both sound awesome (and at least Mirror is getting accolades) but I just can't bring myself to watch and support these underage girls getting paired with older adult men.

Who knew that in a drama with Taecyeon, his acting would be the least of my concerns?

Maybe they'll forgo the romance altogether? Then the only thing to watch out for is creepy ghosts jumping at me from the screen.

Initially even I was against such pairings but then MOTW has been made beautifully in every way possible! give it a try...both KSR and YSY have played their parts to perfection and it doesnt look odd at all given the understated romance.

From what I've heard, the MOTW romance has been very minimal despite playing up the romance initially in the teasers.

The fact that there has been no mention of romance in any of the promo material for this drama gives me hope that it'll be even more understated, if not nonexistent.

Same here. I love Kim So-hyun but this pairing.... no bueno.

Keep it strictly chaste/non-romantic and then maybe I can deal, but some issues (like not normalising the image of underage girls+decade-older actors being paired up) are more important than my entertainment.

I feel the same way. No matter how pretty or well produced, there's undeniably a disturbing trend they are trying to normalize here. They know the pretty package will distract or appease most viewers and clearly it's working.

yeah im still disinterested in MOTW, the fact that its also a sageuk (a genre i rarely care much for) doesnt help. tho i prefer more romance in general, i'm glad they turned it down in this case. but it still makes me soooo uncomfortable like. 15 yr old with 30 yr old isnt ok no matter how chaste the romance is.
and i feel the same here even if the age gap isnt quite as egregious but if there is no romance at all, then i have no issue with Bring it on, Ghost. and unlike MoTW i think the drama has a good chance of just being pure supernatural comedy. (which is a genre i DO like)

Give MOTW a try. I'm not a sageuk fan as well but MOTW got me hooked to sageuk (though I still can't watch other sageuks for now). It's that beautiful

The age-related hand-wringing is starting to get a bit much for me.

I do understand the overall concern, if we're coming directly from a definition of statutory rape and child endangerment. I also get it as a criticism of ageist casting decisions that exile women over 35. But I'm having a hard time applying those concerns to Korean dramas, of all things.

There's barely kissing in Kdramas, never mind nudity, so I'm not overly concerned about a child actor being exposed to something scandalously sexual. There's been a rash of noona romances, so I can't really complain about the industry excluding older women. For sageuks like MotW, the age difference isn't just normal, it was standard for the time peroid. For the ghost drama, we appear to have a Twilight situation: one character is significantly older than she seems (though Twilight was exponentially creepier, since he's 100, and here she seems to be maybe a decade displaced).

It's up to each individual as to what they want to watch, but... This isn't "Pretty Baby". It's not even "Interview with the Vampire". If the concern is exposing underage girls to 30 year old men, the exposure seems to be extremely limited.

ahhh this looks so much fun and I love love supernatural comedies and I am a big fan of Kim Sohyun! If only I wasn't already following so many dramas...also the underage thing makes me uncomfortable. I guess I will have to wait until after it airs to see if I'll watch it.

"A handsome and mysterious professor of veterinary sciences" - Dr Doolittle?! Does he speak to the ghosts of animals? Or do animals sense ghosts and tell him? The description is wonderfully ambiguous.

They sure are a pretty pair though! I'm soooo glad they had him in college instead of high school!!! That was more unbelievable to me than trying to sell the romance. She, surprisingly, looks and carries herself much older than she is.
And as much as the age diff is hard to get over.....it *is* acting.

It's decided!
This summer I'd be busy planning what drama I'll watch. So many good dramas coming in summer.

Anw, I finally know why Taec was casted for this; the main actor should be able to do push up while having KSH sitting on his back.

He might carry her on his back in a few scenes but that's all he can do, it will be Kim So Hyun who hard carries the rest of the drama.

i was really pissed when taecyeon was cast opposite kim so-hyun, but i'm slowly opening up. first the stills (where he looked better/younger/fresher than i'd anticipated), and now these teasers.

the part where he and started shrieking in that hallway and sprinted for their lives totally cracked me up. it was only a teaser, but it looks freaking hilarious. i'm really, really looking forward to seeing kim in her first really badass, sassy role, with some stunt scenes to boot! i feel like i haven't seen this side of her before.

i'm hopeful that taecyeon will surprise me here... i'm actually really excited for this now!

I juuust realize that both taec and KSH both played drama titled "Who Are You" two different dramas, one about polices helped some ghosts catched their murders, and the other was about high school girls.

Umm. So can we predict that this story going tobe about taec got helped by ksh and later helped ksh to depart?
