Just filled out my 2020 U.S. census information.
Wanted to say how many people are living at my address. You know, while still living 🙂

And FWIW, I went for a walk earlier and saw that my nearby supermarket parking lot was the fullest I’ve ever seen it. More cars than even when people are getting ready for Thanksgiving or Xmas dinner. Especially surprising on a weekday during working hours. Must be all the latecomers to the panic buy fad.
Report from the field. Queens, NY. I am fortunate to have 3 supermarkets within 3 blocks of my apartment building. The closest and the one I most frequent is probably 50 steps away.
This supermarket has large glass windows so I can easily look in from the street and see the check out area. Unfortunately about 2-3 weeks ago the store removed 4 of 7 cash registers and replaced them with self checkout things. That did not help when the big push arrived.
I noticed walking by last Thursday evening that things were starting to get a little crazy in the store and they stayed like that all weekend. So this morning I decided to take a chance and go into the store for a few things while the public schools were still in session. Much more busier than a regular Monday morning but manageable. All in all the store wasn’t in too bad of a shape. Restocking had already begun. The meat section was wiped out. I did observe one instance of what looked like hoarding to me. Middle aged couple at one of the 3 registers with 2 shopping carts jammed. I counted 5 dozen eggs, multiples of other products etc.
So I plead guilty. I hoarded. I bought a second can of coffee just in case.
