My Ahjussi watch (I’m not rewatching). Episodes 3 and 4.

I love the path of this show. I can understand why so many people relate to it. Leads are just fantastic, just as I knew they would, as I love them both, so… what was airing at the time of this one that I decided not to watch? (I’ve just checked and I was watching A Poem a day, I cannot recall other).

Even if I still don’t get the brothers and find them really annoying, I know I will understand them better as show goes on, but right now I’d rather not have them on screen. I just love every single detail I learn about DongHun and JiAn. Their hurt souls, for different reasons, are so real. It specially hurts JiAn, she’s just a child trying to survive when she should be living. It feels unfair she’s not given the chance to live a life. And I like the way her heart is warming to someone else she can relate, even if the only thing that brings them together is loneliness.

I know the show focus on men, on middle aged men, but I don’t like the portray of the other women we are shown, apart from the FL. I can understand the mother’s concern about her sons and that she’s affected by everything bad that happens to her, but the two daughters in law are so plain… I mean, Sang Hun’s wife is bossy and noisy and wants a divorce, then when she learns his husband is cleaning, she feels sorry for herself as it’s not good enough and God prevent his son in law to learn she and her husband are going to divorce or what he does for a living. It makes me think about the fake relationship they both have with their daughter, or the fake relationship her daughter has with her husband. I can only see a life filled with layers of lies. Nothing real and nothing true.

And DongHun’s wife who has given up on his husband, probably because he gave up on her a long ago, getting in a relationship with someone who doesn’t really want to be with her, as he hides behind “I may lose my position”, making the position more important that their love. And even so, she’s not willing to accept that she only gets the crumbs (like most lovers do). And by the way, why does her face look so artificial and as she was being photoshopped on every scene?

I’m all in, and I will catch up with episodes 5 and 6 before the end of the week so I can nicely comment with al the rewatchers,
