Finished Go Back Spouses! It’s been awhile since I’ve marathoned a drama, but it was definitely worth it. I have a few little quibbles, but overall it was a good ride!

The part about why Jin-ju was angry with Ban-do. When she kept calling him and later said he was the reason she didn’t see her mother before she died, I was nearly MAD with anger! I mean! You are a grown healthy woman with no job no kid nothing to make you have to stay at home. Get the hell out of there and go to your mom just like when you went to the police station to yell at your husband!

I was furious the first time I watched it and it honestly made me much more biased towards Ban-do, because I couldn’t feel her character at all.

But the next time I rewatched it I suddenly thought that what she did was so much like many people around me, who seem to keep making people near them feel guilty. It is not voluntary and probably has psychological roots but at least it made the scene a trait of Jin-ju, not a glaring plot-hole. It still made me angry but in a I-pity-Ban-do-soooo-much kind of angry not the mad-with-the-writer kind I felt the first time.

Ah, I see. I’m not really sure if it was all that clear because I think I got it from the recapper but it sounded like it wasn’t that he wasn’t there to take her but that she got the call from the police and had to go pick up her husband instead of going to her mom. She just assumed it was just cause the kids were smoking and not that he actual saved a boy from getting further beat up. So, if he hadn’t gotten arrested, she would have gone to see her mom and said her goodbyes and that’s why she blames him and he blamed himself. But I agree that they could have been more explicit about that (if that was even the case though it made sense after reading the recap) otherwise I liked how they slowly revealed the backstory on that.

I didn’t really care for Ban-do’s friends and the fat jokes. I guess they were typical college boys, but I never had patience for that kind of personality even in real life. I also wished we had just a little bit more of the changed future.

I don’t know… I thought she kept calling and calling for him to come… But as you said they weren’t quite clear on that point, and I loved the slow backstory reveal A LOT too.

Oh the college jokes. Yes, a lot of times in dramas typical highschool or college kids can get on one’s nerves.

It’s actually to a writer’s credit that they have good grasp and understanding of those types, but it can get irritating depending on the age of the viewer and where they are in their lives. It’s like when a mom character can irratate a younger viewer but make an older one sympathize.

Lol that’s very true, though I can’t think of a time I could tolerate that behavior probably because I had enough of it with my brothers by the time I was in college lol
