Today I did TTMIK level 4 lesson 8 which was on -๋„ ๋ผ์š” and ์•ˆ -๋„ ๋ผ์š” which mean “it is okay if you do…” and “it is okay if you don’t do…”

    1. JB oppa! You seem tired. You don’t have to perform. You can rest today.
    2. You don’t have to teach me. I can read the textbook.
    3. The weather is nice today. I can walk to school.

1- I think that ํ”ผ๊ณคํ•ด ๋ณด์—ฌ์š” would be more appropriate in this context.

1- You don’t have to come, it is not an important meeting.
2- You may borrow this book, since I’m not reading it at the moment.
3- You can wait here, he is coming soon.

        Looks good.
        3. Did you mean ๋ผ์š”?

1- ์ด ํšŒ์˜๋Š” ์ค‘์š”ํ•˜์ง€ ์•Š์•„์š”. A better correction is ์ค‘์š”ํ•œ ํšŒ์ด๊ฐ€ ์•„๋‹ˆ์—์š”. Because in your sentence you donโ€™t put the โ€œitโ€ part in the korean sentence. The corrected sentence doesnt either but itโ€™s assumed in it because the verb comes first similar to they way a verb starts a sentence and assumes the subject as โ€œiโ€.
        2- ๊ทธ ์ฑ…์„ ๋นŒ๋ ค๋„ ๋ผ์š”, ์ง€๊ธˆ ์•ˆ ์ฝ์œผ๋‹ˆ๊นŒ์š”.
        3- ์—ฌ๊ธฐ ๊ธฐ๋‹ค๋ ค๋„ ๋ผ์—ฌ, ๊ณง ์˜ฌ ๊ฑฐ์—์š”.

On top of Delsatu and seoul_searcherโ€™s corrections ๐Ÿ™‚
      1. ๊ณต์—ฐ ์•ˆ ํ•ด๋„ ๋ผ์š”. โ€œ์•ˆโ€ should come before the verb.
      3. ๊ฑธ์–ด ๊ฐ€๋„ ๋ผ์š”.

        3. Where did ๊ฐ€ come from?

          3. ๊ฑท๋‹ค is the original verb but when you put direction in it changes to ๊ฑธ์–ด __๋‹ค. If we fill in the blank the usual directions are ๊ฑธ์–ด ๊ฐ€๋‹ค (walk to) or ๊ฑธ์–ด ์˜ค๋‹ค (walking from towards a โ€œnowโ€ location). So in you case, you have a destination โ€œschoolโ€ you are walking to. So you are โ€œwalking towards schoolโ€ according to my translation, but also it simply means โ€œwalking to schoolโ€.
