Watching Miss Hammurabi’s episode 9 made me really uncomfortable. I can’t put it into words but personally, I believe that not all underprivileged people are victims.

I think they wanted to say that the underprivileged has less avenues to seek address or ‘find solutions’ when they encounter problems. However, the directing always has this tendency to go overboard. This episode was the epitome of overdramatizing and overly-preachy. Less is more. For example in the ER waiting area, they should have just cut at Ba Reun’s horrified realization that he too uses connections to get what he wants.

I guess that’s the word I was looking for, “overboard”. I still love the show though, episode 9 just didn’t settle well for me.
