I officially want to join Army, how do I do that?
I still don’t care about kpop and some of the biggest idol groups (although came to appreciate a few who make their own music

he he.. no like officially .. where i get to plan and do things

However, to be honest, after posting this, I realized almost all idols have a sad backstory, a lot of hard work and sacrifice phase, and most of them are nice kids. Plus, true talent are groups like Big Bang who create their own stuff, and the most of the girl groups are mediocre talent.

Then i also realized, despite my likeness for the actor D.O and entertainer Baekhyun, i absolutely don’t like EXO for the snobs they are, especially the guy on that outside of my blanket variety show season 1, rather he is the one why i don’t even care to know about who other members are in EXO

Hmm.. I think the cultural differences and standards for what is expected and wanted from men and women are different. I am personally a bigger fan of boy groups than I am with girl groups, because I prefer the general sounds and personalized lyrics that those groups are allowed to have.

It’s true, everyone has their different stars and stories, different problems they’re wrestling with, different things they’ve overcome. The reason I love BTS so much is that they’re very honest about their stories, because they want people to know that they’re not alone.

Re girl groups, there is a lot of hard work going on with them, too. I haven’t found too many that I like, just because of the sound.. but to define as mediocre depends on your criteria for the music. 🙂 Charisma, stage-presence, choreo, concepts, and style of sound vary greatly.

I’ve never known EXO as snobs, but I suppose I haven’t researched them too much. I like a couple of their songs, and their members seem sweet.. but I can’t really comment with an informed opinion on them.

in case of BTS, i have to give the credit to Big Hit Entertainment that they let the boys just be. I don’t see the disgusting pressure put on them the way big agencies do on their idols. To cope up with that, knowing company only cares in the bank balance and not them as individuals sucks!

Mediocre: There is heavy use of autotune, there are very few artists who attempt to contribute to the songs, there are fewer good dancers.. with girl groups i feel, any girl as long as she is b’ful can be trained to be part of a girl group.. she will anyway be singing a line or two in chorus.. and most of your iconic girl groups also have such members… its really 70% pageant show with 1 or 2 ladies with strong vocals who are supposed to be the “talent” in the group and actually sing the song!.. But i hear you on their sacrifice.. they have added pressure of looking thin and lusting to men 🙁 ..

Charisma – yes – depends on personalities.. and maybe girls don’t have the same freedom of expressing themselves, very few are able to shine (atleast in my observation, the immensely successful ones or b’ful ones are the ones who can afford to be a little goofy and do things outside of the protocol.. because of the great netizens); stage-presence – the mainstream girl groups hardly get to break the mould and in some case i doubt they are capable of surviving without the mould.. and then you do have groups like sistar who can shine with their talents and personalities; choreo-concepts-style : copy paste.. whatever you teach whoever, they will learn.

lol.. for all the goodwill DO ( now i don’t know if he is a snob in real life or not) and Baekhyun (at least he is funny) generated, that one guy was good enough to give me an insight into EXO’s psyche.. and frankly, i was like.. you aren’t even that great without the crew that is using their talent into making them what they are!.. if downfall strikes, i’d be laughing.
