Possibly related: I read a while back that some scientists think they have spotted special circuitry in the human brain which makes us more able to identify & recognize specific faces than we could identify other items like chairs (of the same model). If they are correct then face blindness would be what you get when that special capability doesn’t work. Maybe.

For the doctors here, dramas taught me about this face non recognition health issue. How severe? Like you just see a blank face when you meet people?

I’m not a doctor, but maybe all the faces look the same. Just like with racial blindness.

Apparently it affects 2 in 100 people to a greater or lesser extend.
Here’s a bit more about it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-34709004
