    In my sageuk fangirl opinion, Moon Geun-young was the ultimate young sageuk royalty before everyone on this list came along (Empress Myeongseong (2001). She is still the youngest to ever win a Daesang award and she won with a sageuk role.

    I’d say Kim Yoo-jung is the most experienced among the young sageuk starlets with Shim Eun-kyung, Park Eun-bin, Jin Ji-hee, Kim So-hyun, Nam Ji-hyun….
    Kim Sae-ron is known more as a film actress with very little experience in sageuks. Same with Kim Hyang-gi who’s career turns big screen in the past 5 yrs.

    Btw, Nam Ji-hyun played Princess Shim (King Sejong’s wife) before QSD came along. I think if it wasn’t for that role she wouldn’t have been cast as young Deokman in QSD. She played Deokman for around 10 eps. That was a lot for a young actress to carry.

    I have been rather impressed with Park Eun-bin for the way she able to easily and naturally transform her character to fit any age requirements in any sageuk era.
    Sadly, I can’t say the same thing with her latest modern drama.

      Oooh. Interesting. I knew about MGY playing the Empress Myeongseong and later being the youngest Daesang winner, but never thought of her as a child actress. Probably because by the time I came around the Sageuk land she was already grown! Hehe.🤗
      In that aspect, I’ll name Kim So-eun as my ultimate princess! She has played teen royalty so many times, and the dragon top and the bulky skirt fits her form SO well. Don’t you think so?

      I was just being silly with the fact the most of the most-loved child actresses having played royalty, hee. Because we all love Kim Hyang-gi and Seo Shin-ae, I would’ve loved if they were able to play them too. They would’ve made cheeky gonju/onju s, lol.

        Oh Kim So-eun is definitely another stand out sageuk princess.

        I’m very happy that Kim Hyang-gi is having a thriving film career. I can’t believe she is 18 already.

        Thanks for sharing. Sageuk has been a training ground for these young child actors.
        Heo Jung-eun is shaping up to be another great child actor.

      I looked up Heo Jung eun and immediately recognised her from Moonlight and Sunshine (lol!) Also remember her from the Hwajung recaps. Yup, you’re totally correct. She’s the next Sageuk baby. She has already filled off the “Play a Princess” criteria TWICE at such a young age. And she’s going to be in ASADAL! Another reason to watch it! And I love her character’s name there(Tan-ya), so different from the usual names I’ve heard so far.
