So does the concept of making regular donations—or holiday donations— not so much a thing in S.K., then?? What about all their nonprofits?? How do they survive, then?? 😭😭😭😢
May be its true, the idea of regular money donations is alien to the Southern Koreans (including their rich chaebol families).. they are more accustomed to volunteering and giving material gifts but money donation has not taken root in South Korea yet (but we have to remember the ordinary citizen of SK queued up to give up their personal golds in 1998 to help their country out of the economic crisis)
I read that some charities and shelters had to depend on big corporations because of the sluggish level of individual donations (Korea ranked 81st among 153 countries listed in World Giving Index)
Now i hope Coffee Friends will change the South Koreans’ mentality and encourage them to do it regularly
