I was a bit disappointed with this eps because the writer decided to prolong the ‘Victoria’ ruse. There are so many glaring clues that it’s getting more unbelievable that Min-ik still hasn’t put things together. Of course the eps is still fun and very cute: Gal-hee’s repeated slip-of-tongue when she was supposed to act as ‘Veronica’, Min-ik and his amused smile to whatever antics ‘Veronica’ did, the skinships, and the heart fluttering coupley things they did.

But ultimately, what saved this eps from my long rant is the unexpected wistfulness and bizarre honesty that their “affair date” created. Like when Gal-hee talked about Min-ik to Min-ik himself without him knowing.

Or when Min-ik couldn’t help thinking about Gal-hee in the middle of his date with ‘Veronica’.

Or when Gal-hee indirectly confessing her feelings to Min-ik through ‘Veronica’ at the sauna.

Yes, she was selfish for keeping her ruse until they got into the kissing stage. But can I blame her for desperately wanting that? Will I make a different choice than hers if I were in her shoes? Also, I think if I can forgive many jerk leading men for their assy behavior, I can certainly afford to forgive Gal-hee for her selfish choice.

Besides, I think the drama is doing a good job in showing that lying is a very slippery slope. It’s too easy to let the numerous little lies snowballing out of control because of the “just one more time” or “just for this one little thing” excuse.
