I’ve been enjoying HdL for most parts, but things seemed to be lagging more in eps. 9-10 despite that one moment at the end of ep. 10. It’s also not fun to see Man-wol being jealous. (cont.)

Jealousy is a trope I’m not fond of, and to see Man-wol armpits deep in jealousy while also trying to toss Chan-sung out wasn’t fun. Why spend most of eps. 9-10 in this purgatory and gives us literally minutes of Chan-sung’s backstory with his mom? When she turned around after a weak apology, I was like – wait, that’s it? Why didn’t you want him, a puppy with a heart of gold? (oh wait all puppies have hearts of gold). The other ghosts-of-the-week have more screen time than Chan-sung’s mom. I hope we would be given more details on his past and how/why he’s fated (?) to help Man-wol in this life because I’m about to abandon this ship.
On other notes, what’s with that creepy serial killer and his fixation on Chan-sung? Leave my puppy alone! He’s surrounded by ghosts and is in love with a soon-to-be vengeful spirit. I think that’s enough to deal with in one lifetime.

There was too much going on this episode, that’s part of the problem.
You had the random jealousy marriage thing (again), you had the serial killer, you had CS’s mum, you had the reincarnation of Yeon Woo and his budding storyline (featuring pesky gods) and also CS and MW’s story of whether or not he would be coming back. Chan Seong’s mum’s story was shoehorned in and over too quickly which left you feeling emotionally cheated. The serial killer will be important next episode or possibly the next two episodes… and then we’ll apparently only have 4 episodes to solve all the other shit and storylines and plot points… yay.
Cos I’m pretty sure this is only 16 episodes and not 20…

Yes, too many details tossed in and no real plot progression whatsoever. The one thing that stands out to me is Chan-sung’s mom’s story, and yes, totes being emotionally cheated by it. x(
I’m pretty sure it’s only 16 episodes too and so it will probs end with many loose threads dangling. I’m trying to just enjoy the hot mess as it is and didn’t really realize I was feeling salty about the whole thing until I started writing my post. Oops.

Oh AND we had Sanchez’s backstory in this thing as well which was another emotional moment that I enjoyed but could’ve had more time on… -_-

I keep trying to enjoy it simply as a hot mess too, but then every week I end up salty pffft

I was blinded by all the pretty wardrobe and sets and Chan-sung being a puppy. *sigh*
