The investigative bits of the drama don’t exactly hook me, and I think it’s a combination of the team excluding Tae-shik ranging from uninteresting to annoying and incompetent, and the fact that I’m not big on crime dramas anyway.
However, when the show focuses on the actual story, the human elements to the story, I find it quite gripping. Lee Yoo-young is amazing to the surprise of no one and while her character comes across as meek and broken now (for completely understandable reasons), I look forward to her growth and hope they do justice to her potential. I was growing a bit bored during the middle portion, but the last 20 minutes or so really pulled me in. I have a good feeling about next week’s episodes as we get the ball rolling on Seo-hee’s story, and hopefully see how Tae-shik and Seo-hee end up working together.
Also, can we see Tae-shik with his mom, please? I’d much rather see that than have the show have him spend more time with the people he works with. They’re adding nothing interesting to the show so far. Obviously he has to work with them, but… meh.
