Finished yet another great coming of age C-Drama, #MyYouth

I loved how their journey to forever started because Tian Ye thought she had a crush on him and was “creating” coincidences with him. It pisses him to no end that he can’t get Can Can off his case, but he eventually falls her charm. She’s an amazing lyricist; he composes. That was the start when he slowly saw her as his better half. When he learned that truth, the truth that Can Can was no where near in love with him, he was bummed out, but he worked hard to win her heart.

I loved how their high school focused on spending time together, discovering their individuals’ strengths and shortcomings, planning for the uncertain future.

Can Can’s gradual realization that her feelings had changed was so relatable. She had fallen out of her first love and ended up falling for the guy who had always been with her. I liked how Tian Ye was a friend to her first before he became her boyfriend.

What did you think about his part in the time capsule video?
I loved that they became friends first and that he realized and accepted his change in feelings first also.

His time capsule video didn’t surprise me. It was so Tian Ye to not say anything at all! He’s reserved, so his wishes were something he couldn’t openly talk about especially at that age. But he knew what he wanted, and as he said there was only one wish of his that hadn’t happened yet (which he fulfilled himself right there). Gah! He already had marriage in mind with her from way back!

Yes, true! I guess it goes both ways – they were both friends to each other first before they fell in love.

I loved how different he seemed between his current self and his HS self. I hadn’t realized he’d went through such a transformation. He was so gruff and guarded in the video.

Yeah, I was curious if you thought he was thinking about Can Can in the video. And you’re right, thinking about it there is no way he’d have said it for the camera.

Gasp! Yes! His character development was so natural. I didn’t remember that he was more closed off in high school until I saw his video! In university, he was more outgoing, playing computer games with his buddies, participating in concert gigs, much more open with his feelings to Can Can!

Speaking of natural, I just love how everything about their relationship is so organic yknow. When they fell in love, it just felt right. When Can Can started missing his presence, it was really at a time he was all she hang out with and then he just stopped being there for her!

I would def suggest this drama especially when you’re in the mood for some innocent, youth romance.

Hopefully this isn’t much of a spoiler but I really liked that these kids decided to visit their highschool a decade later on the final episode. They looked back on how innocent their dreams and aspirations were. They grew up and had learned to be responsible for their life decisions.

Youth dramas always make me so senti 😢
