Happy anniversary! I love reading this blog; I'm glad you've kept at it throughout this time!

I have kept up a personal blog for almost four years, but it is for my sake rather than any reader's. I think it's less of an accomplishment when it's basically an extended form of journaling by hand.

Congrats on the big one year! Hahahhaa. I used to blog when I was in middle school, but I never had anything to talk about. Like, "Today was boring. blah blah blah" It dwindled down to blogging once a month just to change the layout. Hahahha. Then I got sick of that too. It was too much of a formula process for me. Tears for those who are not creative enough /self-pity. Anyways, I just started reading your blog a month ago, and it's been great--especially the HGD summaries. I'm not Korean, so I have to wait for the subtitles. I like the music you post too! :]

I used to blog and really enjoy writing, but my fan-subbing addiction took up all my blogging time. My last blog entry was right about the time I joined S2! Besides, one of the goals of my blog was to introduce Korean adoptive families to K-dramas and culture, and you do that much better than I ever could! So, I'll just keep posting the link to your blog and happily spend my time timing the latest dramas. Again, congrats on your first year and keep it coming!! I created my own blog in December of 2006 but did not actually start posting on it until March of 2007, so it will be a year for me also. Rather than open a myspace account, I chose Vox. It's alot of fun with their random vox hunts and questions of the day, and less traffic than myspace. I have met some really great people over the past year. Friendships that will last for a long time.

Congratulations and many more. Love your column and can't wait every morning for something new to read. I too have kept a blog but I am not so faithful as you. Keep up the good work.

i've been blogging for a while, but mostly personal & pictures. since... 2002? that officially makes me old. i've been using xanga, but i KNOW if i just sat down and refreshed a little css/html, then i'd love wordpress too. i think part of the attraction is xanga is that i have friends who still use it, and we can use subscriptions to keep up to date... which is a ghetto-er RSS, i suppose.

Oh, Super Tuesday is up next week. Whatever would happen to those Edwards absentee ballet votes? The idealist in me thinks that California will go with Obama. After all, we’re a forward-thinking kinda state, aren’t we not :)? My gut feeling, however, tells me otherwise. I’m actually wondering who their running mate would be once this whole primary thing is over. Actually, an Obama-Clinton ticket to the White House is not a bad one; but it would never happen, would it?

Exxon posted a 40.7 billion company profit for last year (the largest ever). I say it’s about time we have a change in presidency-not that I have anything against Texans of course. I still love my SUV ** hides in shame** though I do go green every other possible way. Must try harder though.

Boy, I’m like all energy and info this morning. Hmm, what was in the coffee…

For me it will be a year in March. I like blogging, because I like sharing my thoughts with other people. I used to just write in a journal, but I like having people relate/disagree with me, and it is fun to read other people's views.

Huh, a year heh? It seems much longer because you've become part of my daily life and kdrama obsession. Thank you and your friends for this creative and well put together site. English subtitles coming to Korean films at CGV
*CJ Entertainment and CGV have announced that they will begin providing current Korean movies with English-language subtitles, starting with director Jeong Yun-cheol's "A Man Once a Superman," reflecting the increasing demand from foreigners here.
*"A Man Once a Superman" will be screened with English subtitles on Jan. 31, the same day the movie is set to be released to Korean viewers. The movie, produced and distributed by CJ, depicts a cynical reporter whose life is changed by her encounter with a man who thinks he is Superman. Hwang Jung-min plays the central character, while Jun Ji-hyun takes up the role of the reporter.

I've never liked writing and always hated journaling, but after discovering your blog during the Coffee Prince craze, I've started to at least write a little (it's been so long since I've written anything - not since my college days). It's keeping me brushed up on my spelling and grammar skills, as well as helping to further my understanding of Korean. Hey, continuing education in two languages! And thanks to your blog, I discovered soompi, and now I'm hooked. The hubby calls my computer my new boyfriend. ;)
And then there's the great music - just when I reached a point in my life where I thought I'd been set in my taste of music, you opened up some shiny new doors. Thank you for all your hard work!

My blog is about a year and a half old now, and I do enjoy blogging when I'm in the mood. As soon it begins to become a task I quit ;) It was initially a way for my family/friends to stay updated on how I'm doing and where I am (specifically since I live away from my parents) but I grew to enjoy voicing out my opinions and just writing what I wanted to say (rather than find someone to vent to till they get sick of my chatter ;)). But it does take so much effort sometimes, so I really admire you working so dutifully to update your blog and keep all your readers so delighted :)
Speaking of Dal Ja: I just finished watching the series! I loved it immensely. Chae Rim was terrific, and I think from scene one she is so endearing. Her character is so real. I truly appreciated the fact that Dal Ja isn't just a clumsy old maid who has the tendency to say and do the wrong things a lot of the time...on the contrary, while she does make mistakes, gets into cringe-worthy situations, and isn't the most elegant, her grace and maturity are always visible. She'll take things quietly and with dignity--but will only let unfairness get so far. She speaks her mind, but is careful and uses tact. She works hard and diligently and is often overworked but enjoys her profession and her success at her workplace. She realizes her imperfections but she also knows to appreciate her worth. Dal Ja was to me just like me, and my friends, and so many wonderful women I know. Chae Rim did an amazing job playing this character, and I just couldn't get enough! Also, all the other characters/actors were wonderful too and I think each actor did an amazing job playing his/her role. I have to say that I wasn't veryy impressed by Lee Min Ki, however, I wished I could have seen more depth and variety in Tae Bong's emotions, though his smile and looks and way of speaking were all perfectly appropriate to the role! Also the Sae Do-Seon Joo couple storyline was great too: it was comedic, yet touching and deep and meaningful.
Dal Ja's transformation from a woman who knew only fantasies of love to a woman who learned to experience and enjoy the intimacy and togetherness of a relationship to a woman who learned to question and face her own fears and feelings of inadequacy for that same relationship, has been presented so well in the series. I don't think I've seen that anywhere before. Its a very honest and direct look at love and relationships, because it is tiring and it is painful, despite all the beauty and comfort that may come with it. More than this main story I enjoyed the dynamics of her workplace and the many relationships that are wrought through the course of the seasons. Its not something that most dramas focus much on, but I thought this theme gave so much insight (and the setting of the home shopping company was actually quite interesting too) about professional women and their many struggles to balance their lives and find love, happiness, family, satisfaction, success.
Clearly I could go on and on and make this a very long post, but I'll stop here for now! I wished I could have watched it live last year, with all the great discussion and dialogue that must have surrounded it. I might go back and read your summaries now! This drama definitely deserved all its hype and fan following :)

what i love about your open thread post is your amazing choices of music! i don't where you get them but nonetheless i enjoy them, download and listen to it , till i get sick of them.

I've been blogging for a bit over 4 years [Dec 24th 2003 was the day I first started.. not hard to remember Xmas eve of 03!] but on Xanga. I totally love it. I don't plan on ever leaving or stop blogging. It's all personal stuff and I blog for myself more than anything else. I don't really have a lot to contribute to the world like you do, haha. Xanga was the only blog/diary-like thing that ever worked out for me, I tend to abandon diaries after a while but it just worked with Xanga. I'm not pimping Xanga, I think it would've worked with any other blogsite, it's just I went on Xanga and just stayed and didn't wanna leave cause I've been on it for too long. It's just that "point of never return" type of thing. Haha.
About the 08 elections:
I'm kind of glad that I'm not old enough to vote in the primaries [will be helping out at the polls though!] so I don't have to decide between Obama-Clinton but I will be old enough when the real election rolls around! Definitely looking forward to my first election =D.

I've been LJing since 2001, but it's not really the same as blogging, it's more like a diary. (...and a place to picspam Kang Ji Hwan.) I think blogging is a lot more respectable! hehe.

OK, I have a question since we're talking about blogging. I tried to use Wordpress but I kept having problems with the text formatting where I cannot seem to create paragraphs. So I went back to blogspot. Would anyone know what I am doing wrong? Or is it because I am on a Mac and there are compatibility (besides me-not-too-good-with-html-and-stuff-issues) problems for Wordpress & Macs?

Your blog has helped to fill that void left behind by misterX after he stopped writing for twitchfilm. (By the way, you do know that X has a link to your site at his Korean blog, right?) Besides X, you and Dahee Fanel are my favorite kdrama bloggers. You have such a way with words and your recaps always make me laugh because of your biting humor. You never tiptoe and you never embellish. I used to be really mindful of what I post in kdrama forums, but I'm learning from you to be more forthcoming with my opinions, to be less worried about what others think, and to be truer to myself. I think I'm a braver writer now because of you. *muah*

I used to blog sporadically at blogger, but after a few months of inactivity I forgot my password and could not access my own blog! Then I moved my forum to Invision Power Board (IPB) and learned subsequently that I could purchase Invision Blog and plug it into IPB. It's pretty brainless and so user-friendly. So now I (and other forum members) have blogs at the forum. I blog about many things, mostly kdrama-related but also about my pets, fansubbing, and other personal stuff. I love taking screencaps of kdramas or kmovies I'm watching so I post those as well. Sometimes when I really need to rant but do not feel like telling another person, I'll just let it all out in my blog but not publish it. I like that most entries are public, but there are a few just for me. It feels like a diary that way. Because I'm root admin at the forum, I do feel some pressure to blog more regularly so that I'm setting a good example ("come on, everyone, update your blogs!!"^^). I'm not addicted to blogging (I'm only addicted to kdrama-watching and fansubbing, hehe), but that's mostly because I'm a lazy bum. It takes effort to think of what to blog. That's why I never cease to be amazed by you, ms. javabeans!

what did you all think of super tuesday? i'm happy that neither romney nor huckabee beat mccain. i'm happy that obama's still in the running! this is turning out to be a super interesting race.

@blake, that was quite a super day we had yesterday. California went the way i predicted that it would. Though i wish that all involved (the candidates, CNN, whatnot) give credit where it is due. Hilary's win in California happened due in part to the Asian votes as much as her Hispanic support. It's something that is so totally overlooked.

Once again, California is not the determining factor in this race despite moving the primary date ahead. It will be messy for sure and i wouldn't be surprise if Obama ends up with more pledged delegates than Clinton comes August. Hmm, i wonder how the superdelegates will vote....
