Jang Dong-gun in Yokohama

Happy birthday, Jang Dong-gun! The Hallyu fave of movies Typhoon, Friend, and Taegukgi celebrated his birthday a day early, on March 6, with a group of 4,500 fans in Yokohama. (It was Jang’s 37th; he was born March 7, 1972.)
The event had the usual video clip screening (tracing Jang’s career back from its beginning) and talk show portion. Jang explained to attendees, “I’d like to take a role that shows a side to me that audiences haven’t been able to see yet. In Laundry Warrior, I took on the challenge of acting in English for the first time, which you will be able to see this year.”
As promotional rep for the UN’s World Food Programme, Jang also took the a moment to bring light to the issue of world hunger and asked his fans to keep in mind that a person dies of hunger every 6 to 7 seconds, and that “the problem of world hunger isn’t because of a lack of food, but that there is a lack of proper distribution. Eating and surviving is a matter that transcends politics or ideology, and I think it’s something that can be addressed if everyone takes just a little more interest in solving it.”
It’s been two years since his last Japanese fanmeeting, and because of his upcoming Hollywood debut movie (Laundry Warrior), he’s been out of the spotlight back at home and in Asia in recent years. We can, however, prepare to welcome him back in the upcoming Good Morning, President, which is scheduled to begin filming next month.

Bogoshiposo oppa JDG! Nice to hear he's coming out again after a while! I think he's one of Korea's best of best and am one of his avid fans since Taegukgi, Friends, Typhoon, Holiday in Seoul with late Choi Jin Shil and the only drama he's done All About Eve where he was awesome. I can't wait for his new movie Laundry Warrior and his newest project Good Morning Mr President! Lots of luck in all your endeavours JDG!! God bless!

To those posters who are saying that JDG is so ahjushi, you should see him in person coz he doesn't look an ahjushi at all. He looks just like in his early twenties and much better looking that those young male stars.

May he will find an ultimate love and happiness. Searching for the truth of this life.
I love his message and words of world hunger. Indeed, the world hunger did not happen solely because lack of foods but mostly because of poor and ineffective distributions and bureaucracy in the process. The same goes with the victims of Tsunamis and peoples in Palestine. The politician involved and bribery among those involved has lead to their already misery.
May God help those in need. We too to be included for not forgetting those who are in need.

Not trying to be defensive but I find it strange that 37 yrs old is consider old. So 50 is antique ??? I guess you must be in ur teens then. Just out of curiousity, what age do you consider as young and what age do you start considering as old ?
BTW, to me he does not look old in the first picture. But of course, I don't consider 37 yrs old as OLD.

To be a lead actor or actress in miniseries, I think between 20 and
30 of age will be reasonable. After 30, their choices will be limited.
For example, Lee Min Ho is 21 in BBF.
It is just my opinion. It doesn't matter how old you are and I am.

Age is just figure to me. . it's how you perceive people!
He is, besides good looks, a gentle, loving, and a caring man but most of all treats people with respect! Have not seen him personally but his body language could tell. Didn't see any sarcasm in his interviews as well but humility.
Those are to me, weigh more than anything else in this world.
But neither I say he's flawless. He's human for heaven sake! And he's the one that made me conquer South Korea and "All About" Korea --- South and North !
