Jung Tae-woo’s vintage-style wedding photos

Now, THIS is how to take an eye-catching, memorable wedding photo.

Not that there’s anything wrong with the standard types of tux-n-white-gown photos we normally see, but these vintage-style shots featuring actor Jung Tae-woo and his fiancée Jang In-hee are beautiful and interesting, as well as being out of the ordinary.

The 27-year-old actor of dramas King and I, Dae Jo Young, and Great Inheritance marries his (non-celebrity) bride later this week, on May 8, at Seoul’s Shilla Hotel.

Take a look at several more photographs from the couple’s wedding album, which features Jang in hanbok and groom Jung in a 1920s-inspired (’30s?) suit.

Several ppl have commented on the resemblance to Capital Scandal. same period of clothing -- but more... it's the same set! I'd recognize it anywhere. Perhaps Sarah can tell us exactly where it is in Seoul (or environs), but it's used in all the KBS historical dramas of that period: Seoul 1945, Capital Scandal, Golden Apples (Hwanggeum Sagwa).

I've long admired Jung Tae-Woo --thank you so much for sharing these photos!

As a photo shoot concept I think it definitely works and is interesting, but as wedding photos they're a little too impersonal I think. They seem more like something thought up for an ad campaign than something that's supposed to be a momento of love.

Is this a normal celebrity thing in Korea?

I feel like I've seen a lot of these, public photos that Korean celebrities do when they get married.

(Now that I think of it, we have our own versions in US Weekly, but I feel like here the connotations are negative when you see a celebrity whoring out their marriage to each other, so I was just wondering if it's the same thing there)

This is a great idea for pics (who says they have to be wedding pics?). It might run you about $350 per person, so it aint cheap. But $350 per person is basically the monthly cost of going out to various lunches and dinners, right? So, skip going out for lunch or dinner, skip movies and non-essential purchases for a month or two, and then you have your extra cash.

1. Go to a Korean restaurant or grocery store. Don't go in (yet). In the entry-way, there should be a pile of korean newspapers and other stuff. Flip through the mags and flyers and newspapers and cut out anything that says "wedding photography"

2. Call em up, ask if they know where you can hanbok's and stuff like that to wear for a day. They will know where you can get that. Might run you about $100-200 per person for a half-day rental.

3. Grab a bunch of your most favorite people (friends and family), lay down.... oh, about $150-250 each for the photography.

The photography will cost between $600 and $1000, likely, for professionally done pics with negatives, various filters for effects, etc. These prices are negotiable, and it is helpful to bring a person fluent in korean who can ask for discounts.

Voila, very cool pics that you will have for life.

Love the photos. Something different and refreshing for a change. It looks more natural. Cute couple and I wish them well.

JTW does have very expressive eyes. This is evident in close up scenes when he acted in Into the Sun with Kwon Sang Woo. His eyes almost look hazel.

It's interesting that people say this set of photos has a "Capital Scandal" look. The first set that came out a month ago had a "Boys Before Flowers" look. So it seems the couple have picked popular K-dramas to theme their wedding photos.
If I had a complaint it would be that I can't find Jung Tae-woo the person in either group of photos. The actor yes---he's role-playing in both. His fiancee's genuine personality seems to come through but not his. Must've been a conscious decision.
As a wedding present I'd like to embarrass him in public. I haven't put my heart back together since he broke it in a gazillion pieces in "Dae Jo Young" a year ago. I've learned a lot about him since then. This is one guy who's all kinds of serious about love and marriage. A very special young man. Like they say in the KHDs, his grace is immeasurable.

These are simply beautiful. I love the concept. But... I think it's a tad bit cold for a wedding shoot. Perhaps it's Tae-woo's poses? She (his finacee) looks lovely though.

As far as recent wedding photos go though, WGM's Joongbo couple is my favorite (even though they're not even a real couple)! lol

When I get married, I definitely want a bright happy wedding shoot.

I dont think the tv was an "oops" or anything. I mean seriously? Can the set designers really look over something that big? I dont think they were going totally for the vintage look, but the feel is there... plus its modern day.

According to the wedding studio that did this photo session, the first set of pictures were indeed trying to capture a "Captial Scandal" feel, and the last photo is intended to be a "Goong"-look-a-like, explaining the presence of the LCD TV.
