Premiere Watch: Goodbye Earth

Time slot: Friday (single drop)
Broadcaster: Netflix
Genre: Sci-fi, action, drama
Episode count: 12

Reasons to watch: After being shelved for quite some time due to star Yoo Ah-in’s *erm* legal issues, Netflix has resurrected (read: re-edited) their dystopic sci-fi, pivoting the camera to focus more on the other characters played by: Ahn Eun-jin, Jeon Sung-woo, and Kim Yoon-hye. It can’t be easy to pump up excitement for a project that has seen so many woes, but they’re doing their best. The darkish tale that awaits tells the story of Earth when mankind is given 200 days before an asteroid hits and — boom — goodbye, Earth. It’s a premise that’s been run through a few times, but that doesn’t make it any less compelling.

TL;DR: If you’re a fan of dystopic sci-fi (like me), then Goodbye Earth is for you

I don't know how sad this series is going to be, but I'm going to cry every time Yoo Ah-in appears on my screen. 😭😭😭

It’s going to be painful to see his absence.

I wonder how much he's actually in it. From what I understand, the director edited him out as much as possible.

I'm not even a fan of his and yet I feel this is upsetting & messed up so imagine how his fans, supporters, and the man himself feels.

I dislike the part that Yoo Ah In was edited out of this. He was supposed to be the ML.
I will still check this out to see if the edited version is watchable.

I was so excited for writer Jung and YAI reunion, but now I don't care if I watch it.

I hope that YAI will stay resilient, loved and supported in the face of all this shunning and demonisation. Bullies, rapists, harassers, cheats and charlatans are still acting but he has been designated public enemy number one. It is just such a public policy and compassion failure. At least, he is not destitute.

it is sad to see Yoo Ah In... ya know, if every Hollywood actor were ostracized for doing drugs... there'd be no pool of talent left! i get it, it is good that they have a no-tolerance view toward drugs - but... it isn't as if he's killed or murdered people or caused their deaths, omg...
