Mrs. Cop 2 in consideration for SBS weekend schedule

So it looks like this is really happening. There’s always talk about second seasons that never goes anywhere, but SBS is considering Season 2 of police drama Mrs. Cop for a weekend timeslot as soon as February 2016. The move to weekends doesn’t seem like a bad idea, given that the badass ajumma cop drama likely has a really strong ajumma fanbase. It’s also a slick cop procedural too though, which is more of a departure for weekend SBS fare.

Mrs. Cop premiered in August of this year and brought in solid 15.8% ratings in its weeknight timeslot. It’s an ensemble police drama led by tough working mom detective Kim Hee-ae, her friend-boss-love-interest Kim Min-jong, and her teammates Lee Da-hee and Sohn Ho-joon (who share a sweet loveline of their own).

The network was quick to say that nothing’s been decided and the schedule’s still being negotiated. One outlet reported that the production is getting ready to start back up for Season 2, and that 90 percent of the cast is coming back, while Kim Hee-ae is still in contract negotiations. Um… you do realize that your so-called 10 percent may as well be 100 percent, right? I know she’s only one person, but SHE’S MRS. COP.

If we haven’t gotten Kim Hee-ae to sign on the dotted line, I’m thinking there’s still a ways to go before Mrs. Cop 2 becomes a reality. In any case, they’re looking at the Saturday-Sunday slot following I Have a Lover, which is a 50-episode series ending in February.

lol yeah, if Kim Hee-ae is the 10 percent that's missing, you may as well not have the show at all.

considering the SBS weekend timeslot has been the place where ratings go to die for quite a while now, I wonder how Mrs Cop 2 will do. Its atypical-for-weekends nature might actually work in its favour then.

It had quite good ratings (was usually the highest in it's slot) and was well received in Korea. The network doesn't really need to care what international viewers think of the show.

Now, this time, will you please give us a reason why Kim Min-jong is 2nd billed. 2nd billed means more screentime for him. NOT the kind of treatment he got from Season 1.

Season 2 belongs to Kim Hee-ae and Kim Min-jong loveteam, while they do police work together. I rest my case.

I hope they don't. I dislike this trend of 2nd seasons for mediocre drama. Are they really out of ideas?

If she doesn't sign, maybe they could do a series about the others searching for the kidnapped Missing Cop :)

The series lacked in plot and Mrs Cop made some pretty stupid decisions to be the seasoned cop she was portrayed to be. I'm here for Lee Da-Hee and Sohn Hoo-joon OTP only.

If they don't cast Kim Hee Ae as the main lead again, there's no reason for Miss Cop 2 to air..

Please change the writer if they ever gonna make Mrs.Cop 2 because Mrs.Cop 1 was crappy as hell that I call it Mrs.Crap.. Stupid storyline, the only good thing about that drama is the cast.

international viewers are so salty over this drama. It had decent enough ratings that it's not shocking for it to get a season 2
