Mrs. Cop: Lee Hana out, Lee Da-hee in

There’s been a casting change for SBS’s new Monday-Tuesday show Mrs. Cop, the police investigative drama starring Kim Hee-ae (Secret Love Affair) as a detective team leader in the violent crimes unit. Producers were initially courting Lee Hana (Unkind Women) to play the team’s girl-next-door ace detective, but Lee Da-hee (Big Man, Secret) is now confirmed for the part instead. I can’t say I’m too disappointed since Lee Hana seemed like an odd fit for the role, and I’ve liked Lee Da-hee ever since she played Lee Bo-young’s sassy frenemy in I Hear Your Voice.

She’s signed on to play a police university graduate with top scores who comes from a good family and has a bright personality. She’ll share a loveline with Sohn Ho-joon (Trot Lovers), who plays a sharp and capable former special forces officer. Any loveline that wipes away his recent cameo in Warm and Cozy is fine by me.

Shin So-yool (Sweet Lie) is another new addition to the cast, and she’ll be playing Kim Hee-ae’s dependable younger sister. Her character is preparing for the civil service exam and is for all intents and purposes the head of their household, which I’m guessing means that our heroine is a workaholic who can’t be bothered to do normal domestic things.

The rest of the cast includes Lee Ki-kwang (Twenty) as the team’s maknae detective, and Park Yong-woo (Spring) as their section chief. I have no idea whether they’ll be going for comedy or gritty action here, but the cast is shaping up nicely so far, and I hope to see something light and fun from Kim Hee-ae, just to change things up.

Mrs. Cop follows High Society in August.

For some reason, I like Lee Da-Hee and feel like that this character description suits her. She was good in I Hear Your Voice and acted well in it.

And Of course, I am all for Sohn Ho-Joon ...he's tooooooooooo cute.. Some how I can't see him as an Officer, may be because I've never seen him apart from sitting with his legs in 'A' shape! LOL... His Three Meals a Day is still afresh in my memory, haha :-))

I really liked her work in I Hear Your Voice and also in Big Man. I also sat through all of Ghost pretty much for her and So Ji-Sub.

She's a great actress, but I'll say. Tooooo thin. I was shocked when I saw her in Legend after Secret. I couldn't believe it's the same person. She's pretty and talented, she should eat a little more without fear of losing parts.

What's worse is that she achieves her figure by starving herself (her words) instead of working out because she hates working out. Her weight wouldn't be that big of a problem if she didn't attain it so unhealthily.

Wow, this is sad. I remember being distracted by how skinny and frail looking her body looked in Secret. It's scary that she got even skinnier!

I pray that she does not have an eating disorder but it sounds like might :(

+1, ladies!
I think she does now seem like having indeed an eating disorder :-( And yes, it's quite impossible for anyone to excersise while starving themselves since one needs lots of calories in order to be healthy and stortive. A very bad message from k-entertainment industry to young girls...it's so alarming!

Oh cool. Sohn Ho Joon and Lee Da-hee. Two people who should rise in popularity. But let's see how they do in these roles

I really don't like Lee Hana, so this is a welcome change. The drama still doesn't excite me, but maybe some more development would help build some anticipation.

I agree that Lee Hana didn't seem like a good fit for this role. I liked her best in Merry Mary (after the crazy 1st episode).

I like both Lee Hana and Lee Da-hee so it's fine no matter who plays it. Although, I've only seen Da-hee in I Hear Your Voice and she has a somewhat cold vibe, but that might just be the character she played.

Ooh, I like her. Well, I like Lee Hana too so I guess it doesn't really matter, lol. And yay for Shin So-Yul! I wasn't going to watch this because another crime show? Meh. Buuut I like all the actors... I know I won't be able to resist. I hope it's not just a straight-up procedural.

I hated Shin So Yeul in "Love and Secret". She really ruined that show, and it is beyond me how they gave her a prize. Her character was poorly written and her delivery was just as bad. Several of us looked and could not feel any empathy of her character. I cannot not watch her again for a long time.

Wouldn't be so harsh on SSY, she's actually a pretty good actress, so it was probably more due to the poor script/character.

Have liked SSY's acting in what I have seen - LDH, not so much.

Thank god Lee Hana is out. I dislike her so much as an actress. She just can't express herself well and is such a oddball. Harsh as it sounds, but she doesn't have an aura that actresses have.

I am now more excited. But I just can't stop thinking of the height difference. Lee Da Hee is so tall, and isn't Son Ho Joon on the smaller side? Lol.

Sonhojun is 181cm, lee da hee 174. They met in davichi mv before, shared kissing scene. Hojun oppa was taller than her on that movie. Sometime he looks not too tall. But actually tall. Find on youtube. Davichi arm pillow:-)

You know, I actually liked Lee Hana in High School King and because it was my first time seeing her act, I thought she was turning on the quirky for her particular character. Then I saw her in Unkind Women and realized that is partly the way she just acts which seemed even worse compared to the rest of the experienced cast. I think she just has a very distinctive acting style and might be limited to quirker characters.
