Eric and Yoo Inna reminisce about past love in new teaser for The Spy Who Loved Me

A new video teaser has been released for MBC’s upcoming rom-com The Spy Who Loved Me, featuring Eric (Unique! Chef Moon) and Yoo Inna (Reach of Sincerity).

The story kicks off when ex-husband Eric suddenly re-appears in Yoo Inna’s life, coinciding with the mysterious disappearance of Yoo’s best friend. As she tries to search for her friend’s whereabouts, though, the situation becomes more convoluted when it turns out that it’s not just Eric who has been hiding secrets from her. Current husband Im Joo-hwan (The Game: Towards Zero) also seems to be somehow involved in what has happened with her friend. Yoo becomes caught between her past and present relationships as she tries to come to terms with the fact that both Eric and Im Joo-hwan are not who she thought they were.

The newly released video teaser continues the wedding theme from the previous video, but this time focuses on Eric and Yoo Inna’s relationship.

It starts with a wedding veil being blown away by the wind, revealing Eric standing behind it. He narrates, “I had waited for this moment.” Cut to Yoo Inna walking up an aisle in the church as she says in voice-over, “I had wanted to avoid this moment.” Eric continues, “That woman, she was my wife.” And Yoo parallels his lines as she explains, “That man, he was my husband.” As they speak, there is a sequence of shots flashing back to happier days when the two were dating and in love.

It transitions to Eric and Yoo Inna meeting again in the present, set against an eerie sunset backdrop. Eric walks up to Yoo from a distance and he stops to stand face-to-face with her. The teaser comes to a close with the two speaking in voice-over together, “We shouldn’t have met. Then and now as well. The Spy Who Loved Me premieres October 21.”

Writing for the drama is screenwriter Lee Ji-min (The Man Standing Next, Illang: The Wolf Brigade) and directing will be helmed by PD Lee Jae-jin (The Banker, Woman With a Suitcase).

MBC rom-com The Spy Who Loved Me is currently set to premiere next month, on October 21, and will broadcast on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

There is something sad about this trailer...

Looks like October is packed with awesome (🤞🏼🤞🏼) fall-winter dramas!

I have a strong polarity response to both Eric and Yoo In-Na, but this kind of thing is catnip to my better half. So I guess I have about four weeks to scheme my way out of having to watch this...

That's what the wife said about "Reach of Sincerity" - 16 hours I will never get back...and I am otherwise a fan of Lee Dong Wook but the Yoo In-Na factor was just too much.

@halofan68, the only time my husband could stand Yoo In-Na was in Queen In-Hyun's Man, where her innate perkiness made sense and the director knew how and when to use her personality. She doesn't suit all tastes, that's for sure.

i am coming from the opposite side, I love yoo in na but not thrilled with eric mun. im joo wan is usually a villain, so I also dont have very fond memories of him, but I am already rooting for his character in this drama. having said that, reach of sincerity really is a waste of time, that was such a bad drama

Wait so who is the ML in this drama? I thought it was going to be her current husband, but maybe no?

This question bothers me a lot. If her ex were to be the end game in this story, it would turn out to be a drama about adultery. And I'm partial to Im Joo-hwan.

You are not the only one partial about it. He as casted after Eric, so I guess he’s SML *sighs*

Adultery? The husband lied to her in the first place by hidding his real job, actually both husbands lied to her. So I give her the rights to do everything she wants with them, they should have been honest in the first place :p

A marriage is a contract, if someone lied on an important subject like his job, it's kinda a fraud for me.

I'm guessing Im Joo-hwan is the SML and I am also guessing that he is toast. It's about spies, after all, someone has to die to show it's all serious (still in shock about the IRIS finale...)

I won't have any problems watching this. Although I've only seen her in two dramas, I love Yoo Inna. She's generally funny and it will be interesting to see her in this sort of thing. I've just finished watching Eric in Another Oh Hae-young, and he was 🔥🔥🔥 It's the first time that I've seen him, so it will be interesting to see him in another role. Bring it on.
