Name That Drama: Guns, selective amnesia, and a haunting

Ready for another round of drama-sleuthing? Help out your fellow Beanies or use this form to send in your own questions and requests for future Name That Drama installments.

  1. Savior or killer?

There’s a guy who’s good at shooting guns. He helps save the village from a wild boar attack. But because of his skill, he becomes a suspect in a shooting incident. I can’t remember if he’s really the killer or if he was framed.

  2. A haunted house

This might have been a drama about investigating or the supernatural. All I remember is one part where they go to a house because a man was being haunted. They found that it was the spirit of a woman that fell in love with the original house owner. One thing I’m not clear on, the “woman” might not have been a real woman but a doll. The original owner, if I remember correctly, was a doctor and his son was living in the house currently. I think the drama was pretty recent, and aired within the last couple of years

  3. Amnesia, again?

Years ago I remember watching a drama where the female lead character was an actress and the male lead was a chaebol (or something similarly rich and powerful). The two leads spent a wonderful day together. They decided to meet again, however, the male lead had selective amnesia and couldn’t remember the moments he spent with the female lead. The female lead’s actress as a career went downhill after their first encounter. I think these events happened during the first four episodes. Please help, I really want to finish this drama.

  4. Doggie doo

I’ve been trying to recall this drama for months. I asked other folks but no one seems to know it. There’s a couple who has a fight so the girl goes to the countryside. Eventually the guy follows her there and finds the girl living with a local grandma and a little boy, who has a crush on the new noona. The kid gets jealous or mad at the guy so he puts dog poop inside the guy’s shoes.

Thanks for playing, everyone — till next time!

It was so trashy that I lasted much longer (you know how much I like trash!).
But it eventually went from good trash to really bad trash and even I had to bail.

Number one sounds like Royal Secret Agent but that's so new that maybe this was a plotline in an earlier drama as well?

I remember the boar in SRI 😂

There’s also a boar in THE BANKER (2019). I only watched one episode so I don’t know if the lead was framed later on, but he did shoot a wild boar that was terrorising Gongju.

The funniest boar scene was in Zombie Detective!

If we're talking boar scenes (and I do not agree there has ever been a funny boar scene) then the most iconic is obviously Habaek.

That’s The Boar!

Yep, Habaek; boar plus trunk. Thought it was all fantasy till I read about boars in Italy.

The oldest boar scene is from Which Star are You From? (2006) but I don’t think there was any shooting, just running 😉

If we're going old school, there's also the scene from YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL (2009) where Hwang Tae-Kyung runs from a "wild" pig:

And yes, this was the inspiration for my avatar. 😂

This one is hands down my favorite scene anywhere ever ever ever. When my friend first saw it with me, her mum came running from the other room to see if we were ok because we were literally screaming from laughter.

Thank you for the clip! I LOL so hard, I thought my kid would wake up from his sleep.
@turka I think if I had watched it back in 2009, my roommate would have had no sleep from all my laughter, too :D

2) It sounds like one of the ghost stories of Hotel Del Luna with Park Jin-Joo as cameo. (Episode 8)

I could not even guess one, does it means I do not watch enough dramas? should I double down my drama watching hours?
It means less sleep but we need to lose something to gain something.

No. 1 makes me think of the drama The Banker. In the very first minutes of Ep1, main lead shoots a boar that had been bothering villagers.

You might be right! I sent that question in and I remember Kim Sang-joong now at the start of Banker. I didn't see the other shows mentioned in the comments.

I must've been super confused because the start had OCN vibes but it was actually a wholesome show. :D
