Taecyeon, Won Ji-ahn

KBS is lining up a new fantasy romance called My Heart Beats and I can’t stop giggling at the destined casting of Taecyeon (Blind) as the lead. He’ll be playing a half-vampire who desperately wants to be human while the actual human Won Ji-ahn (If You Wish Upon Me) may as well be a vampire herself due to her cold nature. Cue co-habitation hijinks. As we wait for the drama’s release, I’ll be busy in my prayer chant for some 2PM cameos because the meta is too great. [News1]

Another poster has dropped for tvN’s Our Blooming Youth, flipping the switch again from the dark tone of the latest teaser to a more romantic moment where our leads forget about the story’s looming mysterious curses and murder accusations. Starring Park Hyung-shik (Soundtrack #1) and Jeon So-ni (Dr. Brain), the sageuk will be coming to our screens on February 6. [News1]

Han Ye-ri (Hometown) is in talks for a new occult drama called The Sense. The story takes place at a Catholic high school, where the students and their mysterious teacher become involved in catching ghosts. Production is still in the planning stages with PD Lee Jung-heum (Inspector Koo) attached to direct. [JTBC]
It’s been four years since Han Ye-seul’s (Big Issue) last drama and she may be returning soon as a fashion reporter in The Queen Lives in Seoul. Han is currently reviewing the role and, if she accepts the offer, she’ll be playing the competitive Nam Dal-la who lives and breathes for her job. [Sports Donga]
Winner’s Kim Jin-woo (Love for a Thousand More) has been added to the cast of KBS’s Sincere Boxer, as Kim So-hye’s (How to Buy a Friend) first love and a kindergarten assistant director. Also starring Lee Sang-yub (Eve), the coming-of-age sports drama will be broadcasting later this year. [KBS]

Yoon Chan-young, Minah, Kim Min-seok

ENA announced that Delivery Man is coming this March with Yoon Chan-young (All of Us Are Dead), Minah (My Absolute Boyfriend), and Kim Min-seok (Lovestruck in the City) headlining the series. On the production side, PD Kang Sol and PD Park Dae-hee are co-directing again, following their collaboration on Show Window: The Queen’s House, with scripts penned by writers Joo Hyo-jin, Park Hye-young, and Han Bo-kyung. With the premiere just a few days away, tvN’s Crash Course in Romance unveiled a new teaser, revealing a little more about our OTP’s first encounter. The unlikely romance between Jeon Do-yeon (Human Disqualification) and Jung Kyung-ho (Hospital Playlist 2) will be starting this week on January 14. [Sports Chosun]
A big batch of posters have arrived for MBC’s Kokdu: Season of Deity and while Kim Jung-hyun (Mr. Queen) is cranking up the angst, the rest of the cast are in better spirits as they frolic through the woods. 1 - half-vampire romancing woman ice-blooded enough to be an undead herself? Sounds cold lol))) Cameos may be too much, but not including THAT song in OST would be blasphemy.

2 - not a fan of overused dreamy filter or cliched pose (PDA near the book shelf AGAIN?! show some respect for all those manuscripts, you horny teens!), but I like their outfits - beautiful and expensive. The color scheme is especially good - our cold ML is in all silver and other snowy pastels while FL wears much livelier colors (red, lime, green and pink accessories) AND has a silver ribbon near her heart. So pretty)))

3 - it seems like doctors will have some competition for the most popular drama job this year in a form of Catholic ghost/monster hunters. Now even literal kids joined the fun!

8 - yeah, that KJH solo poster surely looks unironically angsty, his shirt especially))) Hope the actual drama keeps this non-serious vibe from promos all the way till the end.

I think I read in the past something cheeky along the lines of, “In Italy, the men dress better than the women”.
Well looking at number 2 up there perhaps Park Hyung-sik’s King Yi Hwan will give proof to that line about his Joseon era (whatever that is). PHS may give BOSSAM’s Shin Hyun-soo a run for his money on who is the better dressed in a recent sageuk. I thought whoever dressed SHS in BOSSAM should have received a special award. On the contrary whoever dressed Jung Il-woo as Ba-woo should have received….well I’ll keep trying to let it go.

I will definitely keep an eye out for No. 1 and Taec.

Didn’t watch Bossam, but sageuk men dressed better than the women makes me think of Song Joongki in Sungkyunkwan Scandal and Lee Junki in The Scholar Who Walks the Night!

I've used to read some street fashion blogs in the past and from what I saw there this saying isn't exactly untrue...

Hyungsik did give a run for their money to high elves in Hwarang (DB community had a lot to say about styling in that drama, but I think he looked fantastic most of the time, esp early on), so no reason for him not to try to outpretty everyone and their gumihos again here. Granted, Joseon topknots and lack of makeup/jewelry for men make things less anime-like than Silla fashion but I'm fine with whatever sageuk visual feast I can get. Must also add that his current physique is much more gat-friendly than it used to be in his 20s.

I couldn't go further than Ep2 of BOSSAM (I can forgive ML for doing MANY things to FL before he knows her better - and vice versa - but what he almost did after mistakenly bossam-ing her was way too uncool) so guess I missed lots of pretty there, what a pity. This makes Mr Queen the most recent truly memorable sageuk fashion show for me... Damn, it's been a while.

1. Despite hearing that song a hundred times I had somehow never seen the magnificently cheesy video. 🤣 Now I need not only cameos from every 2PM member but use of the song in the OST and for the video to play on a TV in the background of some scene in the drama.

2. The poster and the people in it are pretty, but it does resemble a LOT of other posters and stills from previous shows. And I doubt they'll be able to match the Alchemy of Souls 2 bookcase kiss.

1 - there can never be too much of early generations kpop groups cameos and/or their music in drama OSTs!

2 - sageuks has never been known for their hot makeout sessions anyway (at least when we talk about silver screen ones - with some notable exceptions ofc), but PHS's lip locking skills are MUCH better than people usually give him credit for. How does one post links here? Cause I'm ready to do a noble thing and protect boy's honor with some proofs)))

In Wonderful Days, they put 2PM’s poster in Taec’s room but covered his face 😂

In his Ghost drama they used part of 2PM’s lyrics in a game..or maybe it was just a popular korean phrase..haha

By having one of their parents to be a vampire while other isn't - that's how it usually goes in vampire fiction. Good for ML, right? He doesn't have to worry about technical difficulties of dating humans at all! Idk what OTP is gonna angst about in this drama then...

1. Taecyon's drama sounds like it's going to be a ton of fun. Sign me up.

2. Our Blooming Youth. Man, this drama has such a weird name. Am I the only one who thinks of the other meaning of blooming? I mean the mild British oath "blooming." So it kind of sounds like a complaint or curse or something like that 😅.

3. This Han Ye-ri drama better be good. I'm not intrigued at all, and I really wish I was. I'm a fan of gloomy, dark, scary/spooky stuff, but this seems to me like it could be another Hometown, which had so much potential but couldn't realize it.

6. I like Minah and I loooove her voice. Yoon Chan-young is a cutie. Might check it out.

Ahhh I couldn’t stop giggling when i first read about Taec’s casting news. Please don’t rob Hottest of the drama title by changing it Show. I can’t wait for this!
