Police on patrol for Disney+’s Han River

Kwon Sang-woo, Kim Hee-won

Upcoming Disney+ police procedural Han River has just released its casting lineup, and it’s looking good so far. Centering around the officers of the Han River police station, the drama will showcase the various crimes that disrupt the riverbank’s peace.

Kwon Sang-woo (Curtain Call) stars as sergeant Han Doo-jin, a hot-tempered police officer. With his righteous personality, nothing can delay his quest for justice. On the other hand, Kim Hee-won (Big Issue) plays the calm and collected inspector Lee Chun-seok. With a personality that’s the complete opposite of Doo-jin, Chun-seok seems like he’ll be the still waters to Doo-jin’s fervent fire. The question is, will they balance each other out, or will their contrasting dispositions lead to conflict?

Rounding out our main cast, we have Lee Sang-yi (Crash Course in Romance) as Go Ki-seok, who’s said to add tension to the show with his ardent presence. Over at the police station, Bae Da-bin (It’s Beautiful Now) plays officer Do Na-hee, who confidently expresses her feelings for Doo-jin despite being rebuffed. Last but not least, joining the team is Shin Hyun-seung (Behind Every Star) as the rookie recruit Kim Ji-soo, whose impressive physique is his point of pride.

There isn’t much information about the drama just yet, but with these two veteran actors at the helm alongside the solid supporting cast, I’m inclined to put my faith in it. That is, if we can get over the availability angst first!

Directed and written by Kim Sang-cheol, Han River is slated to premiere on Disney+ and Hulu in the latter half of this year.

Lee Sang-yi to add tension to the show with his ardent presence. Of course, he's a musical actor. Sold!

Great, I was planning to watch something of hers, but not really in the mood for long weekenders or teen romance shows. Procedural sounds perfect. Also, the character description of confessing confidently to no avail? That's one determined lady here. Meanwhile some idiots out there can't even cough up them words ONCE *cries in OBY Ep14*

Can't wait for this. Its been on my 2023 watchlist since it was first announced. I absolutely love Kwon Sang-woo who had my heart way long ago and the rest of the cast sounds intriguing. Only gripe? Disney!
