#I’ll Find You on a Beautiful Day musings:

I’ll Find You on a Beautiful Day was such a cozy watch. I watched it only during the late-night hours or when noone was around to distract me in the mornings, because I needed the silence to savor it. I am so glad I watched this gem of a drama. I kept delaying watching the finale because I didn’t want to let go of it. But the finale was a fitting bookend to these characters. I know their lives continue in that little mountain-town and everyone is doing their best to live their lives with love and gratitude.

Eun-seob is my most favourite character so far this year. I know he wasn’t proactive but his quite nature and profound thoughtfulness and his amazing blog posts made him feel like a friend and I felt so protective of his happiness (almost like Jang-woo). Park Min-young was, as always, stellar here. The silent melancholy suited her and made Hae-won a layered character.

But I was most surprised by the Jang woo- Eun sil couple. They got all the usual k-drama romance moments like the slipping scene, the confession, the wrist-grab kiss and it was wonderful. Jang-woo could have easily slipped into a normal secondary character but he never let me waver in my affection for him. All the book-club members were great.

I know much has been said but I must repeat this. The sibling relationship between Hwi and Eun-seob was one for the books and the sister bond between Myung-joo and Myung-yeo made me wish I had a sister. The sibling relationships were meaningfully crafted, and they added nuance and depth to the drama. And, speaking of Myung-yeo, the actress did a fantabulous job. I liked how they retained the mystery with her by not giving away details about her departure. Nicely done!

And, finally, this post would be incomplete without mentioning the fantastic central romance. I went into this expecting a normal romance. I have come out the other end a believer. Seo Kang-joon not only delivered a mind-blowing performance as Eun-seob, but also made me celebrate the romance. I had no doubts with Park Min-young but I didn’t know that these two would end up being so marvellous together. You have to see it to believe it!

I have no more words left. Beanies, if you haven’t watched this and you are in the mood for a slow, beautiful and poignant romance, where the town is itself a character in the story, do watch this. It is worth every ounce of your time. Every hour heals you, bit by bit, like a good cry or a good therapy session or a deep conversation with a friend over tea.

I’ll Find You on a Beautiful Day, you warmed my soul (with the cups of coffee made by Eun-seob). I will miss you and I shall remember you fondly for a long, long time ❤️️ ❤️️ ❤️️ ❤️️ ❤️️
