#2023RoundUp, Day 2
Male lead you will never forget

I’ve been waiting all year for this post.

Although there are two male leads this year whom I’ve fallen hard for, one cannot refuse the grandeur, the braids, the eyeliner, the majesty of Luo Yun Xi in Till the End of The Moon. Look at that beauty, the grace, the vast emotion portrayed in his eyes. A wonderful performance which gave great depth to such a pathetic character, even though the drama itself was a total painfest with the most prominent blood-coughing there is (and you know the Chinese love their drama blood running out of the mouth).

I have to mention my other love of the year and that is Xiyan Cang Xuan of Lost You Forever. I spent last winter reading the novel and didn’t care for this character for the first part of the novel, liked him in the middle and loved him towards the end. In the drama, it took me three episodes and then I was lost forever with this entrancing male lead who hides his emotions deep in his heart in favour of protecting the woman he loves. The acting of Wanyi Zhang way exceeded whatever expectations I’ve might have had and his broken look when being in the throes of drugs or blind with grief is imprinted on my heart.

Even a non-fan would be swayed by your screen-caps but for a fan it is just 👌

Thanks! I wanted one of the evilly smirking devil lord but unfortunately for the inhabitants of DB that proved too hard to find in acceptable quality (which is a must!)

Cang Xuan 🥺🥺🥺 Of the ML characters of the drama, I admittedly don’t think I’ll ever love Cang Xuan as much as I love Tushan Jing, but still, he’s quite incomparable to me. As the drama went on, the more my heart broke for him. Zhang Wan Yi is perfectly cast as Cang Xuan, a character with lots of depth, struggles (externally and internally), and perfectly portrayed all of it
