PROS
✅ The story continues to be compelling, with lots of unexpected twists and turns.
✅ The cinematography is fresh and unique.
✅ The production quality is consistently excellent.
✅ The acting across the board, while not amazing, is solid enough to keep watching.
CONS
👎 The pace is often about 10-20% too slow… it lags behind the story and the music at times, which can be frustrating. This is a direction issue.
👎 There are some contrived sequences to prolong the tension in certain scenes, and they end up being annoying rather than exciting.
👎 The direction for the fight scenes is on the weak side. Passable, but not great.
👎 3 weeks in and they haven’t released a single OST yet. There are at least 3 beautiful tracks that should be available by now.
The scene below shows both the FL and SML drowning their sorrows over the ML and his seemingly hopeless situation… but neither knows that that’s what the other is doing. I think it’s a good example of the cinematography, soundtrack, sets, and costumes. Also, the drawn out pacing happens to work here.
The scene is in two clips and has sound if you’re interested.
VERDICT: I will continue to watch this underdog drama 😉
I do think the characters are interesting! What seems to be at debate is the actors themselves. Personally, I’m enjoying the story enough that I’m willing to overlook some greener acting. There are definitely some sageuk tropes too (although nobody has fallen off a cliff… yet).

MISSING CROWN PRINCE episodes 5-6
I’m presenting this week’s comments as pros/cons.
PROS

I’ll probably give it a whirll when it’s all out. are the characters interesting? fusion Saguek tend to be trope-y but I kind of like them for it.
