It’s only the first episode but I’m already blown away

I was not as impressed as i was hoping to be. Interestingly, the case is pretty much the same as the very first episode of the original. Except they dragged it out till next week. I wonder if each case will last 2 or more episodes instead of having a new one each week. I don’t dislike it, but it doesn’t seem to be anything super special either. I am going to continue watching and see how it pans out.

I haven’t seen ANY episode of the original series so I literally went in without knowing what to expect. But for those who have already seen it, like you, I do hope they don’t completely stick to the original and have their own style.

It’s a fine line they must walk. I think, like with a lot of things, not having seen the original adds to the enjoyment factor. You are not trying to compare. I am hoping that as we get more settled in the story and characters everything will even out and I can just enjoy it for what it is instead of making correlations.

I can’t remember what I’ve watched of the original so I started this on a clean slate. I am not impressed either. It’s not bad, just nothing special. It also felt very slow for most parts and I found myself checking the time.

Perhaps these days, criminal profiling dramas are no longer fresh. What’s more important is to have interesting cases and the ability to draw viewers’ attention. It’s too early to say but just based on the first episode, the show seems to be going for style more than substance. Hopefully, I am wrong. Ratings are good though.

Dude, I wrote a really nice response that was totally thoughtful. But the stupid system said it contained an inappropriate word – how???? So, you will just have to imagine my response agreeing and expanding on what you said. 😑😂
