I don’t know how am I supposed to feel about this 😬
I love the original so much.
Chinese remake of popular Korean drama, #Signal is currently in production. The web drama will be produced by Tencent, targeted to start filming in Nov with a total of 32 eps. Unclear if the rights have been bought. #信号#시그널pic.twitter.com/OklozsDLVr
Not yet, @giegie0384 has watched the dorama and she likes it.
How will they make a 16 episodes into 32? Learning form Meteor Garden, at the moment, almost everyone is angry with Shancai because her hesitation has been dragging too long.
Signal Japanese is so remake-ish, like you’re watching the original except it has bad bgm (there were times I felt like I was watching a horror/cult show instead of a crime drama :/) subpar & comical acting from the cast (female lead is terrible), male leads Kentaro Sakaguchi and the other guy are good though. Eps 1-7 are mediocre but last 3 eps are awesome, fast-paced & engrossing. Overall it’s not as thrilling/exciting or gripping as the original but it’s still worth watching. And I liked the ending better than the original.
I caught a bit of the first episode of the Japanese remake. It was a photocopy, except in Japanese – which was just sad. A remake does not mean one has to copy scene for scene, the original. Life on Mars is the perfect example of an amazing remake – modified to suit the context, but still resembling the original in overarching plot and characters.
Agreed.
I’m following the Japanese remake of Good Doctor and although I think of the original when I’m watching the drama because of the familiar scenarious and dialogues, I don’t see it as a copycat of the original at all, unlike Signal.
