2 weeks later and still in the withdrawal from the gorgeous LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL, I realized if I were to write an ode, I’d have to write for PAGES!!
You just have to watch it, guys. It’s not the most-perfect-drama-ever, it could’ve cut down the episode count to 40 by removing the unnecessary fillers, but still…it’s one of the most realistic, humanistic and balanced K-dramas I’ve seen. Even the drama reviewers like Thundie and kfangurl found it difficult to describe and summarize this drama, instead opting to simply say; “A story about the day-to-day life of a Jeju-family running a pension”. Actually, I can’t think of a better description.
Some of the MOST heartfelt and genuine scenes I’ve ever seen in kdramaland belong in this drama, as well as the WACKIEST and random-est!
LUV you forever, drama! Especially I respect you, because you got my mom, who’s not a homophobe but a person who always stepped around such topics, cry and smile not only once, but multiple times!
It’s a keeper.
I totally agreed! It’s such a heart-warming family-centric drama that exceeded all expectations. There are so many moments that stole my heart, but the scene that stuck out to me the most is when Tae-sub’s mom defended him to the rest of the family when she told them he had come out. Many tears were shed. Life is beautiful is my go-to drama when I just need some comforting family banters and silly falls down stairs at the end of every episode. XD
Also, ALL the times dad struggled and tried his BEST to embrace his son with EVERYTHING he had…oof.
That struck me a lot. The effect was enhanced by the fact dad being a quiet, placid, reserved person, unlike mom.
ALSO, when mom chose Tae-sub to be her most trusted person in the family to drop her facade become vulnerable at the end of the drama?? Wow. Me and mom were near tears.
.
Oh yes. End-of-the-episode falling downs. They sometimes got old and try-hard, but sometimes they were SO natural and hilarious. I think they ACTUALLY had multiple trippings while shooting and then they decided to make it an actual thing😂😂.
Ohhh uea when Dad dragged his youngest brother outside after breakfast to yell at him to not antagonize Tea-sub after he came out. And then Dad started crying. And I was a goner. *tears*
I gotta rewatch this asap!
Oh is that how these falls come about? Haha yea some were hilarious!!!
