Love Affairs in the Afternoon. I absolutely loath infidelity but this show is helping me understand why some people do it. Do I still condone cheating? Nope. Were the first two episodes done well? Absolutely.

The writers and actors managed to make me hate a character and feel the loneliness of another in just the premiering week, making me root for the extramarital affair for the FL to feel loved and appreciated. I also think it’s interesting that FL’s husband is obsessed with birds and her future side-dude (I don’t know what’s a male version of a mistress/side-chick. Sorry^^”) is interested in plants/flowers. Her husband’s birds symbolising her want for freedom but she’s trapped in this marriage. Yet, future side-dude’s flower/plant symbolising how her relationship with this man will be slow and deep.

Side Note: I just hate the way her husband keeps calling her “Mom”. It’s pretty imminent that he’s a mama’s boy but my goodness, I really want to slap him every time I hear “Omma” come out from his mouth. Not only does he not pay attention to his own wife but he’s like a spoiled boy asking favours from his mother.

    Agree with you.
I don’t know if I remember well, but I think I read somewhere that in Korea parents start to call each other “Omma” and “Appa” when they have children. So, the fact that he keeps calling her “Omma” is cruel, too, since he has no intention to have a child.
I’m glad someone else is watching it, I felt lonely 😀

I was going to skip this drama, to be honest. This topic isn’t something I’m usually interested in and it shouldn’t be taken lightly but I’m loving this writer and actors so far. 🙂

The only reason I’m not watching it, is that I absolutely loved the Japanese original and I’m worried that they’re going to change it…
