Jisoo debuted with the South Korean girl group Blackpink in August 2016 with the single album Square One, which produced the hit songs Boombayah and Whistle. The group has since become one of the most successful South Korean acts worldwide with their fast-selling albums and sold-out concerts. In 2020, the group released their first full-length album called The Album, which debuted at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200. It spawned the singles How You Like That, Ice Cream, and Lovesick Girls. Ice Cream peaked at number 13 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, becoming the group’s highest-charting single in the United States. Jisoo co-wrote Lovesick Girls. The group also became the first K-pop girl group to achieve the “million seller” status after The Album sold over a million copies.

Prior to her debut with Blackpink, Jisoo appeared in the music videos for Epik High’s Spoiler + Happen Ending and Hi Sohyun’s I’m Different in 2014.
