Bora debuted as part of the South Korean girl group Sistar in June 2010 with the single Push Push. In August 2011, they released their debut studio album So Cool. Meanwhile, their second and final studio album titled Give It to Me hit the airwaves in June 2013. The group also released several extended plays, single albums, and collaboration albums. Additionally, Sistar is one of the South Korean artists with most number-one songs on the Gaon Digital Chart. They disbanded in 2017.


Bora became a fixed host for the KBS2 music show Music Bank in 2013. Her work in the program earned her the Best Rookie Award at the KBS Entertainment Awards. In 2014, she made her acting debut in SBS’s Doctor Stranger. In 2015, she was cast as the female lead in the web series The Flatterer. In 2017, she led another web drama called Irish Uppercut. That same year, she played a supporting role in the tvN series Hwayugi. In 2020, she appeared in the hit SBS medical drama Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 2. In 2022, she portrayed a nun in the JTBC melodrama The One and Only.


Bora graduated from Myongji University, where she majored in musical theater. She dated Feeldog of the South Korean boy group Big Star.
