Choi Tae-joon debuted as a child actor in the 2001 SBS series Piano. In 2013, he became part of the main cast of the SBS daily series Watch Out for Fools, which earned him a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the 2nd Asia Rainbow TV Awards. In 2014, he starred in MBC’s Mother’s Garden, which won him Best New Actor at the MBC Drama Awards. In 2016, he was nominated for an Excellence Award for his work in the MBC sageuk Flower in Prison, which bagged the Outstanding Korean Drama citation at the 11th Seoul International Drama Awards. That same year, he became a host for the KBS2 talk show Hello Counselor, which gave him the Rookie Award at the KBS Entertainment Awards. In 2017, he played a plane crash survivor in the MBC mystery-thriller Missing 9, which scored him the Best Character Award at the MBC Drama Awards. In 2021, he led the Naver TV series So I Married an Anti-fan, opposite Sooyoung.


Choi Tae-joon attended Chung-Ang University’s theater and film department. He enlisted for his mandatory military service in August 2019 and was discharged in May 2021. In January 2022, he and actress Park Shin-hye tied the knot.
